Musical Fidelity V-DAC II unboxing

May be that (the fact highlighted) is the reason. As I understand, you have used Ayon in the same way as Raj did with the Audiolab CDP. Where did VDAC come into picture? Or am I missing something?

All I meant to say is that if you are expecting a v-dac to be a benchmark of how good digital is supposed to sound, you would be making a big mistake. Its not much better than a xonar sound card at a lot higher price.

Perpectives.

One could say, Wow! the xonar sound card uses the same DAC chip as M-F's V-DAC!

:)

Actually the Xonar uses the PCM1792 while the V-Dac uses the PCM1796. These are basically the same chip, one is a higher bin than the other with better distortion figures. On paper the 1792 is slightly better but in reality, the difference in paper specs hardly makes a difference in the real world.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
