Beware while shopping from indiatimes, there are lots of cases where people had to wait for refund for very long time. And no cash on delivery too.

Peeps on thinkdigit forum and broadband India forum have already faced issues. google for more.

PS : I personally have not shopped from them.

I got onida DVDp from indiatimes,they sent a different(cheap)DVDp than mentioned.When I complained,they agree to change.But it took > 2 months.I had to call Onida office,talked to senior person,then he asked me to get it replaced from Local dealer.Initially dealer refused & I had to return.Then again I had to complain & then dealer agreed.

I would get the newer model, but i think the new model doesnt have display on the player.

I have this model and yes It plays MKV format. I already tested it with Mkv format and it plays it brilliantly.

Tried with 4 GB mkv, it's playing. And my NTFS HDD is also supported. Have not tried with file size greater then 4 GB.

The file which I played had video bitrate of ~4 MB.

Ya, That model I guess will be discontinued now, because sony has already launched S190 and S480 in indian market.

And that's why only you may find S380 locally at cheaper price. That's why I got it at 5600.
website still denote price for S380 as 8990, so sellers who have stocks will definitely try to attract buyers with offer price of say 5990 or 5500, and will say that this player is priced at 8990 but we have a special offer going on right now, and you can buy it at 5500 or some other discounted price.

One disadvantage of BDPS190 IMO is it does not have display at all. Apart from that, specs wise it's quite same to S380. Do check out that also.

But I would sure suggest to go with S380, and that to buy locally. You will sure find out some good deal.

^ got it from sony world, bhubaneswar. I was asking for choice and he gave me those ra.one & expandables. So i became happy with tourist+faster.
