Cost of replacement bulb of average projector

It is great to know that the bulb ran fine till a whooping 6700 hours, which brand and model number was the projector of?

V.

As mentioned in my post. It's an Italian brand called SIM2 and the model is a three-chip DLP model called C3X. I believe the new model is called LUMIX. There is a Mumbai representative. It is truly excellent, but comes at a price.

It is indeed a extra ordinarily expensive projector, i envy the guys who can afford it.

With this kind of a projector cost even if the bulb life is 20,000 hours will be no big deal after all the projector's cost itself is out of the world, while i can imagine the guys who own this projector, their personal movie room too would be great in all respects, if one gets to see such rooms then what else can one ask for.

Projector: Sim2 C3X Lumix - Business Traveller

It was maybe in a miracle i was hoping that with the normal projector costs, if we can get such a fantastic bulb life of 6000 + hours.

Thanks

V.

Sadly, I have the slightly older model with only one HDMI input on mine, so I use a switcher. It is also only 720p. But the picture quality is very good, even with BD at 1080i.

if the life of the projectors is an issue, one shd opt for LED ones, there are models like the P512 from egate that has a lie of 50,000 hrs.

now the life that one shd expect is approx 60 to 75 % of the companys claim,

either ways i think LED projectors make a good deal , their bulb renewel cost too is not that expensive

been using the p424 from egate for a couple of years now, its still playing gr8.

There is more to projectors than just considering the bulb cost. LED projectors cannot match the mainstream HT projectors - they are low on brightness and contrast. Their main advantage is low cost and portability. They are suitable for small boardrooms. If one is thinking of a 100" image, LED projector is out.

dont bother bulb cost if it is like 4k INR

so trick is you select PJ keepin mind the bulb is of low cost ..

some units like Acer 3d H5360 .. has bulb of 5000 hours (technicallly)
atleast after 2 years the 4k bulb will not hurt!
it will go even cheap also resale is fast as the bulb is low cost.

i would not prefer paying 10k+ on the bulb..also those PJs will make me count the hours

I would suggest you ask for references of customers who are using the projector since over 2-3 years of the model you intend to buy from the store where you are buying a projector.

I purchased a Panasonic PT-LW271EA WXGA projector for approx. Rs. 45K about 6 months back (May 2014) and now my projector lamp is blown off. I have hardly used the projector for 70-80 hours only. I use projector at home to watch movies once every Fri or Saturday i.e. only 3 hours a week max. The specs says the Lamp life is 5000 hours in normal mode and 10,000 hours in eco mode.

Though my projector is under warranty Panasonic is saying the lamp warranty is only for 3 months or 500 hours which ever is earlier. Even though I have used for less than 80 hours they are asking me to pay for the lamp which is costing approx. 15,000 to 16,000/-. They are not even able to give me the exact cost yet.

I bought a PANASONIC ASSUMING I WILL GET BETTER QUALITY PRODUCT AND BETTER SERVICE.

Projector is a white elephant and buy only if you can afford it. And I purchased this from a proper Panasonic dealer with proper billing and not from an online store like flipkart or amazon or ebay.
