Hi Guyz,

Is some one in Bangalore have a spare 6 meter speaker cable with 14+ guage? I am trying to Biamp my fronts and trying to find if anyone have a giveaway to offer.

Another option is to buy a 15mtrs 16 gauge RCA from amazon (Rs.400) with the help of my cousin who is coming next month from US. But trying to save him from the trouble for this silly thing. I had already bought quite a lot of things with his help the last time when he came

My old WM8740 DAC had a burnout (the transformer from what I could see). I have not bothered repairing it and have no intention to. Its an older version of this DAC: DAC WM8740 4.0 balanced/unbalanced output 24bit/192KHz - eBay (item 220759153013 end time Apr-02-11 08:23:37 PDT) without the balanced connections though

If anyone wants it, they are welcome to pick it up from me. I am based in Mumbai. No shipping etc though. No PM's for this. Please reply through this thread if interested.

@ kapvin, I have just started in AV. Hence, I don't have anything to offer now. In 1 year down the line I shall be sure.

But in PC front, I have already into it by given away more than 2 Personal Computers and spares like DVD writer, monitors, printers etc. to people who are in dire need of those but can't buy due to financial crisis. So, please don't make fun of it at other's cost.

Good. On several occasions I have answered the question, "what is my <insert some ancient-spec> PC worth?" with, "Nothing, to you ...but a great deal to a young student who can't afford a PC at all." Every time, the questioner has accepted the idea.

And yes, there are two of our old PCs doing duty for very brilliant youngsters whose only problem is having been born into poor families.

Who is making fun? Are you feeling guilty? Any bit counts. Check the thread. People have given away all sorts of stuff. I've given away a lot of Pc stuff, and do so every time a spring cleaning is forced onto me by my better half. Anyway, my odds'n'ends cupboard is bulging again and the lady in my life has stopped smiling indulgently, so... Watch this space.

You can't force altruism on others, but you can choose to lead by example.

I have made the suggestions only in the good spirits and have been made towards a good cause. I am not forcing anyone to give anything, but have only made suggestions. So, no hard feelings. I am very sorry, If I have in anyway hurt any FM's through my suggestions :sad:. I still don't know why you're so provoked by these suggestions.

I also want to clarify that I didn't force altrusim on others. I myself have been giving away (or) buying and giving away essential gears to people who can't afford to buy those things since my school days.

Lastly, I am not feeling guilty in asking people's help to help other people. It will be pleasure of mine .

I have a stereo amp that my friend built for me many years back when I was on a budget. The speakers that he had built I had given away a few years back but I havent found use for this. Might be more useful for people who want to use it as a base and upgrade the internals.

I will post pics later in the day (not too great in terms of finish. but in good shape in terms of build).
