Just floored guys... this is real power of the HFV members...I just created one simple impressions post and all you gurus here have turned into a bible for this Acer PJ. Think we need to ask Acer to include this thread on their website.

Congratulations to all new members of Acer H5370BD club owners...have been away travelling and schedule packed till end of April so not getting much time to enjoy the PJ but proud to be part of this club with you guys

Dude !!! this is the mega thread for everything Acer H5370BD.. I was in total awe after seeing the quality from the PJ. However I have one quick question is there any way of sending the Audio Out from the PJ without an Amp to the Bose Wave Music System.. I am totally drained financially and dont want to invest in an amp now... using any cables...

What is your source of video? Most of the media players support splitting the destination of video and audio - so your audio can go analog over normal AV wires to Bose and video signal over HDMI to Acer.

Same is also possible if you are using a Laptop or a HTPC.

What is your sources of storing and playing files and Discs? Try to connect the Bose Wave from there. If it is a PC then you can connect with a Y-cable (3.5mm stereo to 2-RCA). Now a days, very few BD players have analog audio o/p. It will be bad luck if that is true with your player as well.

if you music system has a stereo IN/ RCA IN then yes.

there is a stereo jack. i guess it for stereo out. i did not bother to check but running a long stereo cable else stereo to RCA cable will solve the issue.

Unfortunately, the only thing that Acer missed out was on an audio out jack. The stereo jack on the PJ is for Audio In and not out. So the audio needs to be split out for Bose from the source itself.

For those of you who got the projector for around USD 400, you guys had a deal. The current cost of the PJ is $488.62 in newegg.

Amazon also had a price hike, now it is $451.92. So the PJ is getting popular, my colleague at office also have ordered from amazon at this price.

Hi. I am also in the same boat and checking the price in newegg as well as amazon almost on a daily basis. Please do let me know if there is any offer. I do have one more month, before I place the order and hence not in a hurry.

Guys! Based on the amazing reviews on this thread.
I have ordered one from amazon at $451 !!

And wait for it.... To my surprise, this also comes under their Global Free Shipping.
So including the customs, it costs me $601. With the hefty conversion cost of Credit Card!! Almost 65! the cost in INR is 39,050/-

Before buying this one I actually ordered X1320 model on amazon.in at 34250/-. Once, I got the US deal, I cancelled the Indian order and got full refund..
Now eagerly waiting for delivery, which is scheduled on 23rd Feb. Though, i have heard horrific stories of Indian Customs of replacing the boxes of Laptops etc. with books / papers...
I am keeping my fingers crossed!! :)

if its amazon shipping it to your doorstep.. don't worry.. it will be there..
welcome to the forum...

I have been following this thread for sometime now. Very much tempted but want to see Dev_KD receive it first before I jump in this band wagon. Would appreciate if any forum member who owns it in Hyderabad invited me to see the projector live performing.

My PJ is in US and waiting for a human courier. BTW i have a question for all the guys who had either got it with them or through their friends. Is it safe to get the PJ in check-in baggage rather than in cabin baggage. The reason is most of the people who travel to India usually carry a laptop and/or some cabin baggage, so it wont be possible to carry a PJ , so the only option is to put it as part of check-in baggage. Is it safe. ??

Mine was carried as part of the check-in baggage and was safe.. trust me.. it will be fine.. :)

Congrats n Best luck. You wont be disappointed.Moment you turn the pj on,you will simply say wow!

I would also second what spiro said however good your flat panel TV is - once you see the bigger picture canvas in a 100 screen with the colour tone looking much more natural & life-like you would simply love to enjoy movies & TV shows (especially HD ones) only with projector. Only other display that comes close is the plasma some of the top-of-the-line Pana & Samy plasmas are simply great for movies but even those cant match the screen size that you get with a projector.
I bought the earlier version of this projector series from Acer (H5360) 2.5 years back, lost the bulb after just about 1000 hours of use & then got a replacement bulb from Amazon (US) and I am still loving every opportunity that I get to watch movies & some select TV shows. A good friend of mine carried the projector from US I bought it from Amazon.com for around 520 US$ (that time the exchange was 1$ = 52 INR) so it was pretty cheap (~ 27k). This model was 3D-ready, so I later added the Optoma 3D-XL and started enjoying 3D movies (PS3?3D-XL?Projector). I spent another 10k for the replacement bulb. And forgot to mention I spent around 8k for the GrandView (8 X 6) screen & 2.5 k for the projector ceiling mount.
Overall for <50k I have a wonderful theatre-like setup that I just love.
I am sure with this long and nice thread on Acers next-gen DLP projector, we will have more converts (I mean projector fans).

I had ordered it through the same route. Delivered and working without a hitch. Amazon is most reliable.
