Urgent - Extended Warranty on LED/Plasma - Help me buy ASAP

Hi All,

My sister is looking to buy either LED of 42 or Plasma 43/51inches.

Please suggest :

1. Whats maximum number of years for which extended warranty can be bought?
Sony gives for 2 years I assume at a cost of 5K. Lg fellow told me 5600 for 3 years but website shows 5K each year for LED>

2. What are charges for various brands.

Please guide as she needs to buy a tv.

She has shortlisted - Samsung 5100, LG 5610, as budget is 50 K.

Extended warranty is mostly for 2 additional years after

The Extd warranty between LED/Plasma may vary by size/brand...

For my 46 inch Sony LCD TV, i paid 7.5K as extended warranty for 2 years...

panasonic offers addl warranty for upto 3yrs for abt 15k for 47-50 inch led tv.u can check the websites for respective brands.i got a 2yr adll warranty for my panasonic 50inch for a mere 3325 INR which costs arnd 10k due some offer that was applicable about 2 months back

Catch with LG is to buy it with in first 30 days of purchase to avail above prices.

** LG prices are inclusive of TAX

Take away : Logically warranty charges are linked to the DEFECT RATE. See samsung has lower charges in case of plasma. Does this means, LED suffers more defects?? Logical or wishful thinking?
