Center Speaker - ported or non ported

Even there is a obstruction from side speakers as seen above, after placing in the centre speaker on the shelf there will be further obstruction when watching other specially TV channels . Other movies can be watched without obstruction which are broadcast in 16:9. But I would like some more advice, like if I could replace with bigger centre for broad sound..........

The situation is going to be the same whichever centre you use. For now try adjusting the crossover, see that it'snot set too high. 100-110hz should be fine. Also, try plugging the rear port if you notice any boominess from the center. Another thing keep the center right at the edge of the shelf.

I cannot keep the centre on the shelf as it will block my projector screen behind which remotely slides down for watching movies. Should I go for change. I mean replace the centre...

Try placing on a stool of 18-24" height in front of the cabinet when seriously watching movies. If there is any improvement, you may save some money :)

Yes, test with the centre on a stool in front of the cabinet.
Do you really need the cabinet? What else do you have inside it?
What is your room size? Can you pull out all the speakers some distance from the wall? Do a test run and see if there is any improvement. Were the Arphis in the same position?

Yes cabinet is having lots of AV equipments......Denon receiver, Yamaha amplifier, Sherwood digital equiliser, One more amplifier for 7 speakers placed in each room of the house, a digital monitor for viewing radio stations which is attached to the 2nd preout Hdmi etc etc .....so cabinet is a must for me. My Hall measures 21 x 14.

Your cabinet seems to be around 20" high. I feel you can lift up your screen a few inches so that the centre can be placed on the cabinet.
Did you try the stool and other things? The stool should be as sturdy as possible.

Keeping centre on the stool is the best but I am very oppose to disfiguring my beautiful hall. The stool will not look good. But I can slide the centre in the front, almost to the edge. And thanks my friend for your valuable suggestions. I truly appreciate it.

The stool is only for testing if the problem is with the placement or the speaker itself. If it works then you might need to think out the placement.

Try switching the centre channel off and listening to music and multi channel content. Unless your seating positions are on extreme sides you could do away with centre speaker altogether. Just try it for a couple of days.

The receiver will automatically route the centre channel to the front speakers.
