Garrard 301 - New plinth

I recently made a multilayered plinth for my Garrard 301.
Used 20mm imported plywood.
I designed ( my own idea/design) to accommodate two different sizes of tonearms ( 9" or 12").
Final finishing is yet to be done. I am confused whether to go for paint or veneer.

It will be hard to bend the veneer at the corners. Paint it with automotive paint give it a mirror finish.
