Hello Guys,

I've a quick question if anyone would help me out.
I've got a yamaha cr-620 receiver that was given to me, in like new condition.. does not seem to have been used at all, in it's original box. really cool!
Anyway, all I have for speakers are some old aiwa bookshelf pair
rated 6 ohms.
I does however have a surround section built in at 16 ohms.
Is is safe to plug the main speaker into the yamaha receiver which is 16 ohms?
I appreciate any impute and advise.
Thanks,
John V.

Generally receivers cater to an impedance range. Thumb rule is to match the range. You'll end up frying your speakers and in some cases damaging your amp if there is an impedance mismatch.
