Just joined the forum today, and boy am I glad to find a forum dedicated to gadgets!:yahoo:

Does anyone on this forum know the specifications for the OEM speakers and Head Unit that comes with the Fabia?

Apparently, the sales guy was just throwing "bull" at me saying it's a Bosch or something like that. The reason I ask is because I'm planning to source the speakers from outside India (Polk components mostly) but I need the specs, as in, the diameter and the thickness that the doors can take?

Any help guys?

Skoda Fabia and Vento is Group Compony for Vw family ...they are using Bosch ,Delphi and Blaupunkt

here you can found diffrence and system specification and make

normally Sloka and old vento 2010comes with RCD 210 , and nowdays they modified with RCD 310 .

speckers normally they are using Nipon and higher segment DynaAudio .

some peaple upgraded there system with iced HU which can be fixed on Skoda , vento ,Polo , or FAbia ...

Thanks buddy.

Yes, I went through that vento ICE thread. Incredible job with Wiston. Looks better than OEM fit and finish.

Considering budget constraints and retaining OEM finish at least for another year, I am now planning on upgrading the speakers now and preferably use an amp. The HU replacement can wait for a while. ;)

Do you think think it's possible:
1. Send the OEM components to the rear. There's a provision in the door panel already.
2. Get a pair of Infinity Reference comps for the front to serve the transported (me)
3. The stock Skoda Dance player throws an rms output of 4 x 20w. Can I get it through a 4-channel amplifier to power the front components? If yes, what would be a reasonably priced amp to pair with the infinity comps? The infinity amp is a whopping 40k. Whereas JBL is about 9k.

Apart from all these, there's the warranty issue! I guess there'll be a lot of wire tampering if I need to install the amps. I definitely go not want to get the installations done the skoda service center folks as that's what they suggested if I want to get an ICE setup done without voiding the warranty. Any suggestions to get over this situation?

As far as concern for putting Amp is your choice which can VOID VW/SKODA (Electric ) warranty .

month back I have also purchased VW Vento and it comes with RCD 310 which is having rear sensor function too (Not available in RCD 210)....I have also planned for replacing RCD 310 to RCD 510 (which is Touch screen can modified GPS /Video sensors ) and good thing the connector (CANBUS) is same as RCD 310 . (Caska )
you can also gone through WITSON or CASACA HU which is more powerful then VW/SOKDA HU ( only 20 W even for higher segment fitted system RNS 510 RCD 510 RCD 310 RCD 210 all are 20 W ) and connector and CABUS similar too OEM fitted one .

for speakers you can considered POLK , JBL which is very good performer .

Hi memphes.d!
If you are serious on SQ please avoid Witson/Caska Source Units. Indeed these units are packed with features but they are devoid of good audio engine. They sound almost the same as the OE HU and have higher THD figures meaning the output is not very clean as the aftermarket Head Units can provide. If you are okay (compromised) with the quality and requirement is more on the features part then CASKA/Witson makes sense.
Now coming to your current dilemma, you can use the existing source unit and use the high level inputs (speaker outs) to connect an Amplifier. This can be done without cutting/splicing factory wires provided that you visit a good installer.
Skoda Fabia comes with a Source Unit and Front Stage only(2 Tweeters and Mid-Range).
1. You can shift the OEM componets to the rear.
2. Infinity Ref. 6530cs is a good option.
3. Amplifier: Get a Focal Solid 4 @ around 11.5k. It takes High Level Speaker Inputs and the output is very clean. Sound Quality is at par with Infinity Kappa 4 @40k MRP.

Further, you can upgrade the HU and add a Subwoofer powered by rear channels of the Solid 4.

Thank you bamaboy ! And absolutely sorry for the late reply. This response is exactly something I was looking for. I had infact narrowed down on the Infinity too. Suits my choice of music better for the thump in comparison to some polk audios and JBLs I compared against.

Once again, many thnks.

Want to move the OEM components from front to the rear.
Use the existing head units
As I use a Cowon J3 PMP player I play with the Aux input and use the HU for the volume .

I want to get a decent set of 6 Inch component speakers in front.
I am looking for good clear sound , not savy for high bass , but the current OEM Fabia speaker set up vibrates at Mid-Range.
What are the options I have , Considering Infinity Kapa and also lookout in Bangalore (indiranagar / Koramangala) where I can get these installed without cutting wires.

Can the above setup without amps power the 4 speakers.

On my fabia tdi ive got an pioneer av4350 double din wit kenwood 4 channel amp and jbl 2 channel wit jbl sub.fronts-rockford fosgate power speakers wit oem tweeter and rear its polk components and it sounds quite FAB:-)
