2D Picture quality

Philips BDP 2600 does not support 3D Bluray Discs I believe ? If you are okay with Plasma I think you can checkout Panasonic 42UT50, its a 3D plasma.

Otherwise you can go with 32HX750, for your viewing distance it should be OK. But still first choice IMO is the Samsung 40 incher or 42/43 inch Plasma if you are ready to live with plasma "possible" issues like burn in, image retention, fan noise, heat etc. PQ wise they will be very good in a dark room. Better than HX750 also.

It's a Bluray player but does not support 3D Bluray playback. ( I think) as it's not mentioned anywhere on Philips official specs page. Not all bluray players support 3D Bluray playback.

Sir i am 20 nd presume you are for sure elder to me so you might be knowing that the final decision will be of my dad and he is insisting on a 32" considering my room size and viewing distance.:(

hehe I understand..see its a common notion to have a big viweing distance and considering 40 inch soooooo big as we lived in 21 inch crt era not before many yeras....
but belive me its a notion..after some day view the 40 inch will look very small and so on..our brain is such stuff...

anyway my suggestion convince your father and get a 40 incher or otherwise you will surely feel an upgrade itch after 6 months gurantee.and then you will think the 32 incher investment as an waste

options-sony ex650 led
samsung 490 plasma
panasonic UT/XT plasma....

all 40/43/42 inchers..........

BTW I was looking at a 42 inch phillips the other day when i went to buy st50.
Sports hd channel was being played. It was terriffic He was quoting 59k.

@vaibhav20, you have mentioned several constraints:

- low on budget
- viewing distance 4 ft.
- you are only 20 years old and parental will, etc.

"lack of budget" is a common enough problem for most. The budget is never enough so to speak. My most repeated suggestion is that, if budget is a constraint, then park the money in a good mutual fund such as HDFC Top 200. It will give you annualized return of at least 15%. If mutual fund is thought to be risky (and it is), then into a bank FD. After 2 years look at the TV option again. After all you are only 20. The world is still ahead of you. What is the great hurry for a TV?

You mentioned viewing distance of 4 feet. Is that going to remain fairly costant? 4 feet is really up close and at that distance 32" is good enough, even for 3d. But in future, if you move the TV somewhere where the viewing is farther away then TV will feel smaller. In general 32" for 3D is not suitable. Go for non-3D instead.

I would apologize for what I have said before. Infact I was also in this dilema of Sony 40EX430 and LG 42LS4600 since I had to buy 2 TV's so I had to cut down my budget so didnt went for Sony 40EX650. I did a lot of comparisons and finally I have came out to the conclusion that Sony 40EX430 is a very very good choice. I bought it from a local store at a good price with an exchange of my old (Samsung 25 inch CRT Flat TV) and with Axis Bank offer of 5% Cash Back I got it at Rs47.4k. Also bought a 32 inch LG LED at 25k (LG 32LS3400).
Finally after a very long time I bought it.. This time Diwali offers sucks so better bargain as much as you can but its not possible to bargain much in Sony & Samsung because of their fixed price policy. Thats true actually because quiet a time ago I have heard that shop like Sony Mony in Mumbai had lost Sony dealership for 2 months because of this.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
