Those die hard 3D fans let down by the high price of the passive 3D TV, has a good news. LG has introduced a 3D LED monitor, D2342P. It is available at Rs. 15000/- with two glasses.

LG LED monitor

It has both DVI and HDMI ports for better connectivity.

I think at this price, it is a very good option to experience passive 3D TV technology at low cost.

The price that i'm getting here in chandigarh is Rs 14,600/- any better deal guys?

A friend had checked it out locally here and said it was mediocre at best...maybe coz of the small screen size.He had checked out a 55 inch Cinema 3D and had praised the same very much though.

There are mixed reviews of this product. I did not have a demo.

Advantage of a monitor is that it is for personal view and hence viewed at close. I have a 22 inch LED full HD monitor to which an HDTV box is connected. it is viewed at a distance of 3 ft and give good performance.

The 55 inch TV, which is on display at shops is really breath taking. But how many of us can spend Rs.1.50 Lakhs to enjoy watching 3D?

If we stick to the principle that the optimum viewing distance is 1.5 times the diagonal size, 3D can be enjoyed personally even on a 24 inch set. The basic principle behind the 3D is the same on both. The panel of the monitor may be TN panel and that of the 55 incher may be IPS.

(Disclaimer: I have not seen this piece in action hence unable tor recommend it. What said above is general principle.)

It is better to buy a 120hz monitor and use nvidia 3d vision kit for 3d viewing. That is a proven technology there from last 2-3 years and very popular for PC gaming and 3D movie watching. Also this is the only way of being to use 1080p60hz as even 3DTV's only support 1080p24hz and 720p60hz through HDMI 1.4a

Yes it is...
But the technology is changing. It is not always the best technology that finally wins. Often it is the most convenient one. On this count the passive 3D has its own advantages, even though the technology is its nascent stages, and only LG is producing it.

IMO it is fine for who already owns the Nvidia 3D vision set up. ( I do not know details of it or price). But the future is with passive 3D.

Finally, this post was targeted to those video fans who are looking for a 3D TV experience at low cost, not gamers. It has both HDMI and DVI connectivity.

A 22-23 inch 120hz LED Monitor + Nvidia 3D Vision Kit comes to 25-26k+ but the PQ and the features it offers are excellent.
