40" HDTV dilemma

tvs plus point is only one and only one its picture..may be i am little outdated in this regard..but thats what i think.so demo and if you like lg picture..no problem.you can go with that.......

If you are after PQ ,close your eyes and go for sony 40hx850.
For anything else, there are brands like lg,toshiba etc.

My main criteria is also good picture quality. It was one of the point in favour of LG.

In that case I think you should think radically and try something like Sharp.It seems they were great to look at according to some of the threads here.
If you are bent upon LG brand,there indeed are models that may suit your budget.If you bargain you might get 42lm6400/6410 which might give you decent value for money with decent 2d and very good 3d PQs.
Don't worry if you cannot get 40hx.It is wise to get a decent tv(all brands are equally good,only in certain aspects some tvs are better than others.Anyway no tv can claim it is the best!) for your budget.

I do not have any particular preference for LG. I was just exploring the TVs that could be in my budget at Thailand price.
I want good picture quality for both SD and HD. Everthing else come later.

Don't opt for SMART TVs. Otherwise go by your budget. Samsung vs. Sony has been discussed a lot before

Toay I went to the multibrand showroom and saw sony, samung and other TVs side by side.

Sony EX650 was brigher than the others. On top of it was Sony EX430 which was not that bright (which I guess is good for long viewing) but picutre was smooth.

I checked 40ex430 specification and it also has "motionflow XR 100 hz" like ex650. Price wise also it was 8-9k lesser than 40ex650.

I would like to consider this Tv which is selling in Thailand for around 17k THB or 32k INR.

I do not need smart tv features as I will connect my laptop ( which also has blueray player) via HDMI to watch youtube, movies etc. when required. Also two HDMI would be sufficient for me in daily usage. ( I hope its both the HDMI are capable of giving HD picture quality )

Can someone please advise on the performace of this TV and any particular shortcoming that afffect daily viewing ( picture quality, sound). I hope it is actual full HD TV.

I would suggest to go with EX650 just for the X-reality picture engine present in it..if you feel it bright you can still reduce the backlight,contrast,brightness accordingly. But as you are getting it from Thailand..you will still get it in lower price..

Thanks Lake1988...There is price difference of approx 9k between the price of EX650 and EX430, even in Thailand. I will be getting the 40EX430 at approx 32k, the 40EX650 will cost me 40k approx.

Price wise I am tempted toward 40EX430. Would like someone who is using/ seen 40ex430 advise on its picture (SD & HD) quality & sound....

40EH6030 : 18k Baht
40EX650 : 20K Baht

You should demo both in a showroom but IMO EX650 anyday. EH6030 has disappointing PQ. I'd even recommend LG models over it.
