42 inch LED/LCD/Plasma

Hi Guys
I went to vijay sales and there was one more panasonic plasma model available.
VIERA TH-P50U20D

Does anyone have any experience with this one?

Thanks

Hi Guys
I also checked the LG 50PK550R
How does this model compare with P42V20?

Please let me know
i am a bit confused between the two models.

thanks

Bro one is 50 inch another is 42

Both have some + and - . I would say take some full hd / diff rip files and watch SD content on both of them ... What is your room size ? Will 50 be toomuch ?

Read the threads from Shaiju and Vramak . Both have extensive information about LG PK and Pana V20....

Hope the threads give you enough idea . Do a feature comparision from the websites.. more important trust your eyes... :)

Hi Guys
I have finalized panny v20D as the TV (42 inches)
Could anyone of you let me know what is the price they paid for the TV in Pune?

Anyone from Pune who bought this and at what price?
I would appreciate the inputs.

Cheers

Hi Guys
I have finally booked the panny 42V20D.
I got it at 65K after much bargaining.
It will be delivered by Saturday.
I got one year warranty on the TV since 3 years was only valid till Diwali :-(
Thanks to all the members you replied.

This works for X20, so hopefully it will work for V20....
Press the Vol - (minus) button on the TV and then the RECALL button on the remote 3 times. Service menu will appear. Press EXIT button to exit.
Tell us if it works....

Hi Guys
The plasma got delivered today.
The packing looking good.
Should i open up the TV and check the usage hours or should i wait for the Panasonic engineer to come tomorrow for wall mount?

Please advice

Thanks

Congratulations ! Wait for the Panny engineer to come and open it. Check the usage hours first.

Hi Guys
Please reply
The service engineer might come today and if he wall mounts the TV it would be hard to demand a replacement if it is a demo piece.

bigdaddy,

you shld have spent lil time searching the forum.

Here is how to check the panel ON time (number of hours used) for panasonic V20D plasmas. Just be careful not to change any setting while doing this. I have tried this many times and it worked fine for me.

1- Hold down V- on the TV and press "RECALL" button 3 times on the remote
2- Press 2 to get to SRV-TOOL
3- Press OK to Enter
4- Navigate to Bottom Right Hand Cell using the Directional Buttons on remote
5- Hold Down "Mute" for a Few Seconds and that is it............ used hours and number of times the panel is switched ON will be displayed in the same row.
6- Press "EXIT" for few seconds to come out of this menu (The TV will reboot).

It does not erase any of your settings. BE VERY CAREFUL AND DO NOT CHANGE ANY SETTING IN THE SERVICE MENU WHILE PERFORMING THESE STEPS.

Hi Guys
I checked the usage hours as per the process described by Kittu and manu.
The time was 0 and the count was 4
I guess i got a brand new piece
But still on the screen i see some patches like impression left when you touch something.
Anyone seen this?

Many Thanks to kittu1977
He has been very helpful
Kudos to him :-)
