42" Panasonic VIERA TH-L42U30D LCD

Hi friends,

How about the Panasonic VIERA 42" LCD Model: TH-L42U30D. I almost forgotten to mention the price. it costs Rs. 44,500/- (first they quoted Rs. 46,000/- after negotiation they reduced the price hyeah.

How about the performance of this LCD? Today I have viewed this LCD and it looks very good. Also it has Full HD 1080p panel.

1) IPTV features (for this they giving away a Logitech wireless keyboard free)
2) Very good contrast and colours.
3) Viewing angles are good.
4) It has IPS Panel

I have already viewed Sony 40" BX420 and Samsung 40" D550 LCDs. This Panansonic is quite a match to Sony BX420.

Please share your experiences and thoughts. I plan to purchase LCD within 2 days, so please give your valuable inputs regarding the Panasonic VIERA TH-L42U30D.

I don't think anybody purchased lcd from panna.

Our mind frem is set( with 3d or without)

panna= plasma ( acive 3d)
lg= led passive 3d
sony= lcd + led (active 3d)
samsung= useless ( my service expiriance view)

better go for something else

Hi, this Panasonic U30D model is quite good. The picture quality is nearly as good as Sony LCDs. In the showroom the Sales Person had demoed the Sony BX420, Samsung D550 and this Panasonic 42" U30D simultaneously.

Panna's picture quality is nearly as good as Sony's and also the viewing angle is very good. It has IPS panel. Also it has good sound. The colours and contrast is very much like the Sony's LCDs. When demoed the pendrive which I got, it played most of the files very well. Only the files which are more than 1 GB capacity are not played.

I have searched the net and found in Amazon there are so many happy customers with this Panasonic U30 LCD. Most of them gave it a 4.5 stars rating.

Panasonic TH-L42U30D is Value for money.

I Purchased this TV 3 months back picture quality and other features is excellent. HD Video's are awesome. u can go for this TV without hesitation. USB Plays most of the formats even larger file.

tell you what? I have just purchased the Panasonic 42" L42U30D LCD today :yahoo:. The Picture quality is excellent. The HD in this LCD is awesome. I have played everything in this LCD except Large file with more than 1.5 GB.

1) Excellent picture quality, colour contrast, brightness but the options in settings is limited. The Full HD quality is awesome. Even the small size MKV movies are played with very good quality.

2) It has IPTV features. (you can connect to Internet and browse facebook and shoutcast) There are more apps available in their website.

3) It has 2 USB, 3 HDMI, 3 component/composite, 1 Ethernet port, 1 Analog audio out.

4) The sound in this LCD is also very good. It has Dolby Digital with 20 W RMS.

5) The USB playback in this LCD is also very good. It played almost all the formats. The drawback is it didn't played files with more than 1.5 GB in size.

Even in daylight with windows opposite and at the left side of the LCD, it didn't lose any picture quality.

And this is also a icing on the cake:licklips:. As a Diwali festival offer they gave me a Logitech wireless keyboard free :clapping:.

That's it. Now I also a happy Panasonic Owner hyeah:hyeah:.

I have purchased on 15th Oct 2011. (i.e. the day before yesterday). As I mentioned the rate is Rs. 44,500/- exactly. I bought it from Viveks. So, you have no problem is visiting the shop at Chennai. What is the rate in Chennai?

This Panasonic LCD is picture quality is very good. It has various features as well. The Full HD is awesome with beautiful colours, contrast and details. Even the small size MKVs have played with beautiful quality. The Audio in this LCD is awesome. It has Dolby Digital with 20W RMS. The sound is very good. Even I hear various sounds from the Cable TV itself.

Just 1/2 hour within purchase the Panasonic guy has spoken to me and came home for demo. As I think the service will be as prompt.

So, please go and demo this LCD, then decide...... I am very happy with this purchase.

Is it possible to use Skype with this model(TH-L42U30D)? I've bought this TV a couple of weeks before without analyzing the support for Skype and now I have a necessity to use skype.

Appreciate any help/info here.

I just bought this TV 2 days back and I am happy with the features that it offers. Tried a 500 GB HDD (External Not powered) and it scanned the HDD and listed all the video files in one go. But had some issues with MKV files and the AVI files. Thats not a big concern, when comparing all the other aspects of the TV. So its always a better deal to go with this. Had checked almost all the models and brands, including VU from Croma and Sharp, which is not available in the market now. This is a decent TV for the budget customers.

If you are particularly looking for Panasonic, then consider the Plasmas. They come with a 3 year warranty including the panel and they claim that there wont be any pixel burn in on the Plasmas.

I have tried 1080P Full HD video files from HDD (File sizes more than 8 GB). The movies were played flawlessly from the hard drive.

I want to know how is picture quality of SD as well as HD content?
did you connected your stb with HDMI? if yes than how is the clarity?.
