The CX520 screen and NX520 screen can't be compared one is a matte screen while the other is high gloss mirror finish.

The NX520 is a low end model which based on the older BE3 engine,its also only sold in some parts of asia and is basically a BX420 with a monolithic design .

The panasonic X30 is crap when it comes to handling reflection,it looses a awful lot of contrast when ambient light hits it.
As with all plasma they are inferior in that department,with the low end models being the worst.

Went around to two more showrooms...

As Kittu said, Plasma's were much better in evenings, but still some reflection was there (specially during low contrast moments) and was enough to nag... so decided against these...


Sony CX420 seemed decent... also came across Philips 42PFL5506 @40K... PQ looked pretty comparative to CX420, only in few frames some colors looked little splattered... when I say little, it was very little as i had to take a hard look to find a fault for lower price

Going to do some review of this Philips model... anyone has it? any inputs?

Haven't seen it but it has a LG panel so it will have inferior contrast compared to VA based tvs of sony/samsung and plasmas.

Apart from that haven't seen any ads of philips tvs lately ,its indian business is now taken care by videocon and its global tv business is also in the process of shifting ownership or management.

In fact videocon is behind ( selling and servicing) a lot of foreign sounded brands like hittachi, akai, aiwa, JVC etc . In a sense we, customers are being cheated who are buying them in the hope to get world class product and service
