55 inch tv for living room for 1.5lac

I am getting it for 1.8lac with home theater and 4 3D glasses.
Is it a good deal for this tv??
How is it compared to the Panasonic Gt50???

According to a top ISF calibrator (Chad B), both GT50/VT50 and E8000 perform more or less same. There is nothing significant to differentiate.
For example, GT50/VT50 have slightly more black levels compared to E8000 (the difference is very minimal), where as E8000 has more natural color reproduction and better motion handling. In the end, it boils down to individual's preference.

TV installed today.
PQ is insanely awesome.

Any inputs regarding break-in???
Is running Break in slides at low contrast for 200 hrs enough??

Congrats. You have got yourself avery good display.

Break-in slides should be run at higher contrast. While watching actual content lower the contrast and sharpness. Turn off all fancy picture processing modes. You can keep cell brightness at whatever you like. You are all set to enjoy.

How many hours of break in is needed???

The 64" E8000 will have similar black levels as the VT50 if properly calibrated, enjoy!

How is calibration done??
Is a professional needed??

I am not a fan of break-in concept. It is done to age phosphors evenly and faster. Not much of a benefit unless you are professionally calibrating your display. That's what I gathered after reading the various forums. Just mix up your viewing and everything should be fine.

There is good and straight forward calibration disc available for free download. I'll post link later.

I have a Panasonic GT50 running without break-in. Don't worry, simply enjoy normal viewing from day one. Make sure you run the built-in screen burn protection program after extended viewing.
