I am looking for a 55" TV from the 3 brands.
What are my choices?

3D - NOT required.
4K - NOT required.

I am currently leaning towards Sony 48W700C (Too bad they don't have a 55" version of it).
What I would really like to have a 55" TV instead (Not keen on VU or MMX).

So do I have any good choices within 1Lakh from the 3 brands?

I have two Panasonic E6D TVs and am very happy with Panasonic.
Since I was looking for LED/LCD I was leaning towards those 3. If the panny has a good screen, then I am open to it.
I don't care much of the features. Screen should be great and should have numerous ports. 120Hz would be great!!

E6D is the model number. Got them around two years back.
Never had an issue but then I don't watch TV/movies very much so actual usage would be much less than average.

Could you share the model numbers? When did you purchase them?

Size aside, how does the Panny TH-60C300DX compare with Sony 48W700C?
I could not find much reviews of the panny.

Am not sure if the Sony model that you mentioned abt has local dimming feature.. If so then making a comparison with Panasonic is unfair as it most likely a Direct Lit / Edge Lit LED..

If Sony does not have that feature, then the two should at-least be equal...

The sony has Frame Dimming (I guess not much difference between the two at least in this aspect.)

Will probably visit Panny showroom and check some of their TV's today

I just do not know why you are against 4K and 3D........I have purchased Sony 55 inch W95B for Rs.1,64,000/- the perfect full hd with triluminious display and its breathtaking...which is having 3D but not 4K....I watch all channels in 3D and its so enjoyable with the depth.....Today I want to sell this very Sony TV for Rs.95,000/- cause I need now 4K since there is Netflix in 4K plus lots of Youtube vides in 4k, plus dth 4k channel and now world T20 inn 4k....and this 4k is so awesome...just watching the 4K videos I nearly gone insane....its out of the world. Today 4k tvs are available for as little as Rs.50000/-. It is said that in 2 years time full hd displays will be out of date and all tvs will be 4k. Even Airtel is planning 4k channel very soon. Guys you better watch and go through the latest TV news on the net. 4K TV prices have crashed down in the last 6 months and within just a year you will regret buying a 4k TV.....

I had a demo of the 50" & 55" model. Looks pretty good.
I am leaning towards the 55inch model.

55C300DX costs 70K on flipkart - WSRetail. (Looks like a good buy)
Extended warranty comes to about 6K per year for upto 3 years extended. (Warranty Info from showroom)

One showroom quoted 1L for 55" and 1.2 for 60".
Another showroom, if I remember it correctly, quoted 85K for 55" (Unless I'm confused. Unlikely since, This is the same price on the website for 55").
I'll mostly be going again, since I did not have a look at what ports are available.

The 60" goes over budget including 18K for 3+ years of warranty (total 4). I had a look at the chart that they had for all products. It was 1, 2 or 3 years additional.

I am wondering if I Would I get it any cheaper on the stores compared to flipkart (non branded). Might visit Devi International from whom we had got 20-30 plasma's group buy, sometime time back over here. Thanks to Kittu. :)

Correct me if I am wrong,
1. I dont need to go for a smart TV, thanks to chromecast.
2. All I need is a few HDMI ports, Component Input and maybe Optical out().
3. Does this have HDMI ARC?? If not how would I integrate this with receiver?

So there is good difference between the dealers.. Looks like each one wants to charge on their won...

I chanced upon Panasonic 60 inch in Tata Croma.. Not sure of the model, but saw the price lil over 1 Lac.. so should be CX series.. It was big screen from a distance of 9 feet.. Looked really good playing HD content..

Here is the link for Panasonic from amazon Panasonic TH-60C300DX 152 cm Full HD LED TV: Amazon.in: Electronics

Check with Panasonic India if they honour warranty if purchased from online store...

The seller on amazon could most likely be a Panasonic dealer.. Try to negotiate a deal with the offline seller where you enquired for 1.2 Lacs, quoting the above offer from amazon.. Sometimes the offline stores budge only when they feel they are loosing a potential customer..

If all these don't work (or) you feel suspicious somewhere, you have your 55inch :)

1. Ok
2. If you have a Blu-ray/DVD player with HDMI output, then you can miss on componenet input until.. Optical, i would say Handy. . Juz incase the TV doesn't support HDMI-ARC, you can use this to connect to AVR...
3. My 5 yrs old Panasonic TH-32X24D LCD had HDMI-ARC.. So i guess most modern TV should be equipped.. Physically inspect in a store is the best choice..

Visited Reliance near my home to fish around for the price for 60" with the IPS panel. He had a demo piece. His initial price was 100K. He offered it for 90K and was open to bargain if I was interested. (I missed asking him if it was a demo piece)

However,
1. It does NOT have HDMI 1.4. HDMI port does not have ARC mentioned.
2. It does NOT have Audio out (RCA), but has a single Coaxial SPDIF Out (Unsure if it works with receivers and if it will return audio back to receiver?).

Thatz roughly 30K difference in the pricing amongst retailers..

1. Ok..Expected that TV will be equipped..
2 Co-axail will work with AVR.. ARC is function of HDMI...
