Neil Young has always been a champion for high quality sound and it's so refreshing to see his dedication and quest to deliver quality to the masses...

Hear him explain this new product at SXSW yesterday. The feedback from musicians (posted on the Kickstarter page) are also very interesting. They universally acknowledge the inferior quality of CD's and MP3 yet continue churning out music on it!

They tried it in a car! Sheeeeesh...

Most of them are older than I am, and probably deafer too. having spent far more time on very-high-volume stages. Hype Hype Hype.

24/192 is not new. How come all these big music industry names are acting like they just heard it for the first time? Hype Hype Hype.

Porno player*. Might be great, but this kind of in-your-face wall-of-PR promotion does nothing for me.

*And just one of the guys said, "say this right..."

At least one member has one on order. I'd rather hear their review than all this marketing, so I'll wait for that. And still be cynical :)

Can the mods consolidate all the porno threads? There'll be a dozen in a few days!

Thad, I agree with your points. Like you, I too am looking forward to reviews versus the PR.
It sounds promising..... at least on paper. More so considering the alternatives for portable music are quite shoddy (outside of DVD-Audio that is pricey and has limited selection) :)

A portable record player is nothing new. One of my friends is trying to repair a portable record player with him (some regulator has died). It is really small (a little more than a brick in size), maybe a kg or two in weight and one can put earphones to listen to it. I think it had two speeds. I think it was from some Japanese company.

By the way the "portable" reference in my post was meant as a joke! And I hope the posts above are also in that vein (it's troubling if it's not :D)
