How to Make a DIY Cylinder Subwoofer (aka Sonosub)

I found this article while researching DIY subwoofers. A sonosub seems like a neat way to incorporate a sub in your home theater. I really like the way it looks after completion. Looks less intimidating (if a shorter one is built) and blends/hides well with the home decor.

You need an external amp to power it. One can start by using this Software: Sonosub Software.

Anyone here has gone through this (sonosub) route? Do share your thoughts.

If you don't mind it's height, a similar design SVS PC 2000 (34 inches tall ) can be hidden behind a curtain & the cylinder is really an interesting design with a small footprint ( only 16.5 inches in diameter) as compared to the conventional box subs. It actually saves a lot of floor space.
I had a SVS PC 2000 cylinder sub which was decent for movies and enjoyed it till the time I had it. The best part is, it is strong yet very light and can be easily moved around unlike the PB 2000 which was heavier and took a lot of space.
