Suggest a TV to Gel Well with my Stereo Set-up!!

Hi All

Firstly, many thanks to all HFV members for guiding me through my first stereo system. Since then its been a long time I participated in forum discussions. Amateur, you may call me.

Now, a need for TV has arrived as my CRT blew its picture tube yesterday. So here I am seeking suggestions from gurus.

As per title, I need a TV (plasma, LED, LCD) which uses my stereo set up in best possible manner or in other way a TV that makes it a Home theater without even having a receiver, center speaker etc (again call me amateur).

What I have:
CD player: Marantz CD 5400
Stereo Amp: Marantz PM 6003
Speakers: Wharfedale diamond 10.5
DAC: Muscial Fidelity V-DAC
Other sources: Sony BDP B370, Lenovo Thinkpad T410

I am in no position to start a Home thater set-up and hence looking to extract the best out of currently I have.

SO my requirements from TV:

1. Budget: 40-43k
2. Size:40+ Inches
3. Picture Quality obviously: I am not keen on 3D, HD etc. but just excellent PQ
4. Excellent sound quality:This is where I suppose I will make use of stereo set-up.
5. USB capabilities: To play as many formats as possible
6. As many options of audio-out as there can be: I would use RCA out as well as digital/optical out from TV to be fed into amp or through DAC.

Retail purchase or online. Any method would do.

Please help me guys. I would be waiting for your replies.

Panasonic 42U30 is a good entry level plasma to start with...........also have a look at the Samsung plasma's. Since picture quality is important with a tight budget I would recommend plasma. I always prefer cinema like warm colours of plasma compared to LED/LCD. There are lot of threads on Plasma vs LED/LCD on the forum. Always demo the tv before buying.

All current tv's support USB and play almost all formats. However you would need to check specific models for further details. Also most tv's not only come with audio out but some also have digital audio out.

There are many thread on same topic available in forum. For example

http://www.hifivision.com/television/24685-best-tv-cost-around-rs-50k.html

Easiest was to search is Goto Google

Type site:hifivision.com "your search text go here"

Well thanks a lot for directing me to a HFV thread link which had thousands of posts on finding the right TV and letting me know of this unheard site called google.com

I was expecting much more man. I thought my post was a bit different in a manner that I am neither searching for just a stand alone TV nor a home theater set up.

What I wanted to know was on lines of:

- Which TV has best sound quality: type of TV (plasma, LCD etc) and which manufacturer.

- What listening would be best for my set-up: TV's RCA out to amp OR TV digital out to DAC and then to amp. Which would give better sound quality. If digital out then I would search for a TV with same.

- If discussions had proceeded, I would have asked how to connect TV through DVI out on my laptop.

- Many more things

But it seems you have done your bit.

.............

Thanks AAkashr for the comments

I was also keen on pansonic plasma after reading good reviews. I also like the colors to be warm but clear.

Most of the latest LCD, plasma, LED TVs come with with optical out, so I think I would get one with digital out without much of trouble.

Do you have idea on models that can play through external powered hard disk as I have one of 500 GB??
