Friends... thank you all for guiding and helping me make a decision to buy Panasonic 42" x30 plasma
Before I visited this forum, i was really confused... but reading some of the related threads .. I could narrow down my search for a budget plasma with 3 yrs warranty

For a beginner, as I m not videophile (if that's the right word) I think I m making the right decision..
I will buying it this Saturday from the official Panasonic showroom for 34000
is this a good deal?? is there anything else I need to make sure bfore the purchase ??? also, I will be buying it in EMI..

Again thank you guys and thank you hifivision

:clapping:

where do you stay at mumbai ? generally i have observed that panasonic showroom prices are on the higher side. i would like to recommend you to pay a visit once to kohinoor, ghodbunder road (besides cinemax), thane(w). if you could, discuss about the TV with a salesperson named 'harshal'. i feel you would get a better deal there.

yes ... even I thought I didn't good... ppl r getting x30 at cheaper prices... giving preference to the Panasonic showroom was only bcoz.. I thought.. I will hv the peace of mind of getting a factory sealed product ..
but I will visit the kohinoor outlet nd check if I can get a better deal...
Thanks @ TheSeeker nd Neeraj

the kohinoor guys r selling at a higher price.. the reason they say is Panasonic can afford to sell at a low price bcoz they buy that model in bulk...
any other place guys???
:(

Cooldeep, there are a lot of scallywags selling demo TV with hundreds of hours on them. Please use the remote to examine the usage meter in the TV to find out how many times it has been turned off and on, as well as how many hours have elasped. If you are paying the new price, you should have new goods.

There is a thread detailing the button sequence in the service menu to see the details.

As for dealing with salesmen I find it effective to be prepared to walk away if there is no movement toward my price. I have also found it productive to visit the shop, seek the manager and write my price on the back of my name card and leave. More often I have several messages before I arrive home.

i had checked the prices at kohinoor and croma too...
the best deal is only at pana showroom.. so i think i will go for it... will be purchasing it by today evening or tomorrow morning

Yes the market is full f delightful retailers and salesman who will lie to any extent to sell what they want.. even demo pieces.. nd once u hv paid, u will get their 'i don't know you' attitude... just to ensure that i m preferring pana showroom over other retailers.. and the best deal so far i hv found is with pana showroom only..

And even though he assured me that he has more x30 pieces and he would deliver only factory sealed product... i will still check as much as i can to make sure i get a genuine new product..

It will be helpful if you guys can help me out with the method to check the usage hour
i checked on the internet but found out a few methods all different frm each other... hence if u can ... plz give me the actual method to check it

Yes i will definitely put up some pics and a review once i get the X30 plasma delivered

The same .. 34 at pana shop
the dealer didnt seem trustworthy nd wen i asked for 2 pieces he told he'll need some time...
that very second changed my decision and i went for the official shop..
got the delivery the same day.. nd its going smooth since then

hi friends, sorry for posting late..
Also I can't post any pics as I don't hv a decent camera.. I had smashed my HTC phone last year which damaged the camera's output quality nd hence the picture clicked are too blurry to share..
other than that..

this is the first time I m posting a review so pardon me if I make some mistakes in terms of not being able to convey effectively ... bt this is wat I hv gt to say

the PQ of x30 is exceptionally good for the price.. my neighbour bought a 26" Toshiba led recently.. the x30 PQ in normal mode is way better than that of Toshiba led... i know Toshiba is not a favourite wen it comes to PQ.. but I m comparing it just coz its a led

the contrast levels are great giving you natural picture.
the stuffs in dark backgrounds like a night scenes.. looks clean nd sharp .. this is where you can spot the real difference between led lcd and plasma
the whites don't look burned out like in a led... the colours look vivid.. absolutely natural ...
infact I didn't felt any sort of heaviness in my head even wen I gamed for more than 3 hrs nonstop..

I hv an older gen gaming console.. ps2 slim.. and it looked pretty decent on the big plasma screen ... though the graphics of the games are not so great nd it looked all blown up.. but gaming on a big screen :)
the games didn't cover the entire screen .. around 1-2 inches from all the four sides were left

usb connection- pendrive with downloaded HD avi movies frm torrent played smooth.. bt the ones I converted using speedbit video downloader didn't played at all..
I converted the same video to mkv nd quicktime too.. still nt playing ..
maybe some codec issue...
jpeg files look great .. even mp3 play nicely... just.. it can't play all sort of videos

bt doesn't matter as I hv connected the pc

yup through the traditional vga connection.. nd it looks clearer nd crisper.. still to find a chord that connects pc's audio with the tv speakers

checked Facebook nd shoutcast with DLNA connections..
nd works just fine...

so that's it for nw... any thing in particular u guys wanna know??
