Hey guys i have an accuphase E - 460 n was thinking of adding an accuphase P 4200 as the power amp to it. Any advice on it? Have the sonus faber cremona M's and the sources are an electrocompaniet CD player and a clear audio TT with a project tube DS phono stage.

Cheers!

If your CD player has a pre amp, then in a sense you have 2 pre amps and 2 power amps...! Seems a slightly sub optimal combination to me though I have heard a lot of positive comments on the pre amp section of the integrated and it is probably cheaper than the standalone preamp. If your CD player does have a pretty amp (which can take another input) then you don't need the e460. My humble opinion.

Hello Anand !
I am sorry if this seems to be O/T, but allow me the 'space'
I suggest, you sell the 460 & buy my 'almost brand new' [used less than 200 hour] Accuphase E-550.
It is a super Int Amp - the best that Accuphase makes - will drive any speaker & the need for a pre / power will not be needed.

My price too is 'super'
50 % OFF on the OLD Indian MSRP - 720/- K was the price when the Rs. was @ Rs. 55/- [now the Rs. is @ 65/-] so you know what the retail price etc. will be at.

My Int Amp is used less than 200 hours & will run your SF - Cremona with ease.....
Worth a consideration - imho.

The thing is my E- 460 is just 5 months old and must have done around 200 hrs . Was planning on adding the P4200 to it.

Cheers!
Anand
