Hey, i am planning to build a stereo system for my pc. I already have xonar essence stx in my pc. i am using logitech z5500 speakers connected to my stx. This speaker is really good for movies and games. So i am planning to build a stereo system only for 100% music. The budget is 50-60k or 1000 dollars. The room size is 12*10 feet. I will be hearing AR Rahman, Yuvan in tamil and all kinds of music in English(Eminem, Pitbull, Katy perry, Lady gaga, Ellie, Adele etc). I am not an audiophile but i am looking for some good quality bookshelf speakers since i have a lot of flac music in my harddisk. I have already did a lot of research in hifivision and got an idea about the speakers. Also i would like to know whether passive speakers with reciever will be much better than active speakers.

Active Speakers:
1. Audioengine A5+
2. Swan mk200iii

Passive Speakers :
1. Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 or 10.2
2. PSB alpha B1
3. Monitor Audio BR2,RX1
4. Dali Zensor 1

Reciever for passive speakers:
1. Sonodyne Sia 320
2. Norge 2060
3. Marantz PM5004

Someone recommended Sonodyne Sonus 2605 FS speakers. Is it really better than wharfedale bookshelf speakers because both cost around same. Also if i want to add a woofer in the future, how to connect the woofer to the reciever because all the above recievers are 2.0. All suggestions are welcome. If u have any recommendations for 1000 dollars speaker system, u r welcome. I am planning to buy this month. Thanks guys.

Powered speakers can be handy.lf you need more power, then passive speakes with amp is the one to go with.Try some demo.

I recommend Aktimate Mini+/Blue, better than everything you have in the list including Wharfedale Diamond bookshelves.

Aktimates are powered, not true active. If you can spend even more, nothing will beat AVI DM5 under 1l or so!

Neither your swan or AE is active, they are powered, and not as clear as Aktimate Micro.
