However yama speaker system @ digital acoustics does not give a good impresion

I own onkyo HTS-3400. I used it only for movies. If you are going to use it for music considerably then, Denon 1312+Polk Combo is better between Onkyo and Denon. Also Denon combo comes with active subwoofer. The cost provided for Onkyo HT-S3400 is on higher side, it should be less than 25K.

Thanks Jeyaraj for your valuable inputs.

Is there any other combo any onesuggest me then it would be better for me.
Also tell me is the price of dennon+polk combo=45k is Ok?

do you want it more for surround sound or music. if its the latter then you would be better off buying a 2 channel stereo setup. will get much better sound quality for the budget

I got this package for 36K from profx 2 mnths back

The denon and polk combination definitely seems overpriced.
I have the rm6750 with denon 1611 which is previous year's 1612 and i paid 46k for that. The 6750 is very similar to the 705 with pretty good performance but the sub is the weak point. But its great value for the price.with 1312 it should be cheaper.

Also, are you ready to go step by step? ie get an avr + 3 fronts now and rears + sub later when youhave again stocked up on funds.
I think a more powerful avr with better speakers will be more advisable than a sub sat system for your room.

I had the onkyo speakers SKF series and my room size is more or less same as yours. I say, get rid of it from your choices.

One of my friends, with same room dimension has exact config you mentioned - denon + polk audio, and I'm impressed. You might have to play with eq part though (if available) coz I find sound is little bright in his room.

I think that denon+polk seem to be better option for the budget.

This is a wonderful period, researching for the best combi. The first movie/song will be the best experience in life ;-)

:-)

Probably because Ajit Nambiar's beloved state is Kerala :D

Denon+Polk as mentioned earlier is definitely a good combo...Only, you need to squeeze their balls out to get a good deal. On first audition/enquiry they will surely try to get the max out of you especially if they realize that you are a newbie...nothing wrong on their part, poor guys are just employees trying to earn a living. but the margins are good.

Denon 1312+Polk 705 is a good combo. Bargain for anywhere between 35-40k.

all the best.

The Sonodyne guys quoted me Rs. 20K for the Denon 1312 AVR only.

Updated: Sorry they quoted 23,900 for Denon and 20K for a Yamaha AVR. I can't recall the model now.
