Hows your experiance with mrntz and which speakers you are using....

I am very happy with the Marantz amplifier and currently i am using it with Tannoy mercury V1s, most probably i will change the speakers in next few weeks or so.

Our forum has lot of happy marantz amp users. do consider the other amps also on sale in the forum. there is one Cyrus and one Rotel also available for sale.

One Marantz PM8003 is available in the for sale section of this forum.

hi I think for your taste it should be NAD first then maranz.Cyrus is famous for there sweet vocal.Almost all english amps and speakers are concentrated mainly on vocals from my observation.

Andis,
Your requirement is balanced highs and lows with balanced vocals.

What you may be actually looking for is neutral sound / flat sound.

Every amp has a bias toward some frequency.
Marantz I personally found slightly inclined towards highs.
I found NAD to be on warmer side and sometimes add a 'veil' on the sound so in my listening I find them to be not completely transparent but towards warmer sound.
My observations are based on the amps I have heard and YMMV.

Are you aware of passive pre amps? Example pass B1. They are very transparent and don't color the sound much.

If you try to keep flat signature it will do justice to all kinds of music without biasing towards a frequency. I am not advocating flat sound :-). But I thought that is what you are looking for. No? :-)
