Advice on Signal Loss in HDMI and RCA cables

Dear all, kindly advice if theres any signal loss in HDMI and RCA cables of 10 to 15 meter length. Also advice me with some good brands of cables as i intended to use with projector.

I think the subject is discussed on previous threads but the subject may be different and posts may be in between. That said ...

1) HDMI are digital cable and the signal loss is sudden - just like a '1' switching to '0'. This may happen after 25 to 30 feet of cable. In such cases, an HDMI signal booster may be required. Quality of cable does not matter a great deal - either the cable will work or will not work.

2) In case of analogue cable, the signal loss is proportional to the distance of the cable. But more than the signal loss, it is the noise that gets picked up, that will degrade the signal. If using over long distances or when lot of analogue cables are bunched together by a cable manager, it is advisable to use good quality cables.

Think of 25 feet (7.62meter) as a rule for HDMI cables-- anything above that you may need a booster. For long HDMI runs- I generally use cat5 cables with baluns and can run much greater distance

Sometime back I was using a 10 meter generic HDMI cable without any problems.
