Advice on speakers

I have narrowed down my choices, but it will be hard to audition all of these. I am moving from older equipment and need to downsize. I currently have Rogers LS8a floorstanders from the early/mid nineties.

They will be paired with a Quad Artera Solus in a fairly large room…..probably not ideally configured, but I can’t do a lot about that. I prefer a balanced sound….not overly bright. Classical/acoustic/folk/soft rock music. Vocals are important too.

Shortlist….I am not up to date with how different makes sound so do shoot me down or suggest different/better. Budget £1000 ish

My vote is for the focal

From the list try to audition the Borea BR 08 or its smaller sibling BR 07

The Artera does 75W at 8 ohm and the suitability will depend on your seating position wrt the speakers ie how loud you play music

Maybe you can also consider wharfedale speakers (Evo 4.4). If you have liked voicing of your Rogers, you will find wharfedale to be pretty close with almost similar sound signature.

Since you mentioned fairly large room and speakers which are not bright, you can add Wharfedale Lintons/Dentons to your list for audition. The Denton being a bookshelf may need a subwoofer though.
