hi, visited above mentioned showrooms. None of models were in 15k range. The shopkeeper said that commercial models start only from 60k +.

Only Yahama had a model for 25k, that too home category. Please advice. Need to purchase on this weekend itself.

Can i buy online ??

For your budget I would suggest your to look at Sonodyne Genie 1 speakers, this is a small wall mountable speaker and it gives pretty good quality audio for its size. Its quite popular in the installed sound market and is used in big showrooms too. Price should be around 7000+ per pair. They also have ceiling speakers and amplifiers. As for the amplifier. you can check with Sonodyne if they have a model that will fit your budget and requirments - Sonodyne. You can have a demo of Sonodyne in Delhi but not sure if they have a dealer in Chandigarh, so call them and find out.

I think a Sonodyne Amp + 4 speakers might be a little above your budget, but you can go for the Amp + 2 speakers first and then if you feel the need for more speakers get 2 more later or you can go for some Amp from some Indian brand like Ahuja, Norge, DNM.

If you looking for the cheapest solution with decent sound then Ahuja should fit the bill, should be available in your local electronics market or get in touch with these guys in Chandigarh - IAct Technologies

Sonodyne have their office in Delhi only, no Chandigarh.

However, i spoke to Iact representative. told them the requirement. The below is what they have offered -

Ahuja Ceiling Speakers (2-way, 30W RMS Model No.- CSD6303T) for 1650 for a 1 piece. They advice to use 4 speaker for 450 sq feet.

Ahuja PA Amplifier (120W, Model No.- SSB-120) for 9.7k.

In total 20k proposal for the above. (installation included)

Please advice.

Their offer looks good. Their advice to go for 4 speakers is right, it would give a more even sound or else with a 2 speaker system you may find the sound to be very loud when near the speakers. Their quote of 20K is ok as ceiling speakers will need some extra installation work.

bose 301's is a good buy. also adds brand value when you put it up in a showroom. you can also check wharfedale diamonds

Thanks for the inputs -

Currently confused and need to finalize today itself. Following are the options -

1. HTS 3100 onkyo for 9k (olx.in)
2. Harman Kardon AVR 3550 (23k) @olx.in
3. Ahuja speaker for 20,000.

Unable to find links from where to buy. Please help with links / shops in Chandigarh.

Note :Sonodyne have their office in Delhi only, no Chandigarh.
Symphony - Sector 8 Chandigarh (1st floor above SONY) & Melody House - Sector 35 Chandigarh, very costly - 60K minimum.

Thanks again.

If you are interested in Ahuja, then you can get complete range in Sector 17, Melody House (there are 2 melody houses together, one is SONY another one is Ahuja) opposite Neelam Cinema.
FYI Ahuja are famous for PAs, now it depends on your preference you need quality/melodious sound or generally want to play the song in your showroom.
I am not sure if you are interested in ceiling speakers but many people use ceiling speakers in the showroom (to play songs/instruments in low volume so that nobody disturb while talking/shopping or something like this). For celing speakers you can use any amplifier, even Ahuja would be better too (no need to spend thousands bucks).

If your getting Onkyo HTS 3100 for 9K then go for it, should be good for your needs.

If you have no ceiling there then you should go for satellite speakers with subwoofer, I believe you remember the setup of Music World, Sector 17 Chd (recently closed last week of Jan). They were using Bose Satellite speakers with Bose Subwoofer, I guess that was Bose Acoustimass 5 Series I.
The subwoofer was hanged on a middle pillar at 8.5'-10' height and the satellite were on the walls at same height too. I have checked their connections, all satellite speakers (more than 6) were connected manually inside the subwoofer.

Source was a basic CD/DVD player > Tascam M 08 Mixer (to control the volume/frequiencies from their counter) > Subwoofer/Speakers.

Actually Tascam mixer is not required for this setup but they were using this with Onkyo 5 CD changer and Denon amplifier in late 90's. May be because of any issue with their Onkyo or Denon they have changed the setup and using Tascam only.

If you plan for similar system, you need Source and Bose speakers set.

Any AMP to be bought separately or just direct plug-in to the laptop head phone port ?

You advising 1 set of Acoustimass 5 or 2 set of Acoustimass 3 ?

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
