Hello Members,

My budget is strictly Rs. 60000. I will be mostly watching SD/HD channels (Videocon D2H HD) and also the bluray English movies and series.

If 3D and smart features are not there in TV, I dont mind, as I am looking for good picture quality.

I have visited some electronic stores and so far I have found Panasonic Plasma P42UT50D and also found P42ST30D.

I request your views for buying TV. I am open to LCD and LED also.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Himanshu Rajan

Panasonic 42UT50D will be available for 58~65K or so. This is the best option in my opinion as it will bring the best PQ, colour reproduction, zero motion issues, etc. On the downside, it will suffer from reflections and you will have to care about the Image Retention issues especially in the first 200 hours. Plasma will beat any LED in its class for sheer PQ.

Amongst the LED models, you can look at Sony 40EX650, Samsung 40EH6030, LG 42LS4600. There are Toshiba and Panasonic models available too in LED but since pricing is not available on website, I can't say.

Most manufacturers are slowly relegating LCDs to start-up range and lower sizes. You can consider these also after a demo. Visit multi-brand showrooms.

I would wait for 2013 models if not in a hurry bro...especially if this is a long time investment.

Well, we know what will happen to investments like mutual funds in the long term!
When you see a real good TV, you would say, "to hell with long term,to hell with issues, to hell with smart features, I want it right now":licklips:
