Dear All,

I spent nearly 2 Months decided what type of display (TV) to buy.
Catch: I have Max 45K Budget.

I researched lot, including basic LED 40 inchers. They all have pathetic features to start with and too the range is available only in some brand. (Mainly philips 4757, Toshiba PS200, and Samsung 39EH5003.

Then i just thought of why not giving Plasma a look.
Looked into Samsung 43F4900, LG -42PN4500
Both have respective display qualities when compared to Entry level LEDs.
I agree both above Plasma have Resolution: 1024x768.
But then, is real world picture clarity is dependent on Resolution., Is that really truth?.

Do TV manufacturers fool customers in believing that higher resolution = better picture.
I also understand that more pixels defintely more visual content. But is this truth, for common available display sizes of 40-50 inches.
What happened to other parameters such as Color reproduction, Fast Motion Sequence, and Contrast Ratios which are much superior in entry level plasmas as compared to LEDs;.

Of-course final nail in resolution game, in the current DTH (HD and NON-HD) broadcast.
Do we really enjoy FULL HD resolution (1080p); at 40-50 inches screen sizes considering broadcasts qualities.

@ Help: If anybody have bought above plasma displays: Kindly let me know of detailed feedback.

Go for 43F4900. Value for money with decent picture quality. Recently purchased this after doing comparisons with entry level LEDs.

One thing you have to aware of is the reflections from the screen. It is there if the light source is parallel to the TV and falls in the viewing angle. Even in LEDs it is there but minimal when compared to this one.

If you don't have any window parallel to the TV or planning to use blinds then you can go for it.

For lower prices, plasma is the best tv that you can get with size + picture quality. Resolution depends on your individual perception - it should not matter if you don't watch full-HD content.

Reflection is something you will have to handle - its just like reflecting glass of CRT, but now you have a wider, bigger screen which makes reflection more prominent.

Go for Samsung. Not many seem to have gone for LG plasmas of late on this forum. Not sure about availability of Panasonic plasmas.

I have a trick for minimising reflections based on my personal experience.

Wall mount the plasma and then tilt it slightly downwards. Most of the reflections will be gone. And the tilt also helps in better viewing angles.
In my previous house, I had a large window bang opposite the TV and I never faced any problem of relections.

Do check Panasonic P42XT50D if you want to go for 3D plasma. So far enjoying it as PC monitor and also for PS3 gaming and movies.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
