Sorry my mistake. I thought you had KEF R3. Also didn't knew AKSA needed preamp. As for carrying an amp to rpggoa's place I think he/she is planning to purchase wharfedale evo.

Ah.. Then check if an audition is available at a dealer. The dealer would have paired it with some suitable amp.

This AKSA build is just a poweramp, though the designer (Hugh Dean) has helped many folks to add a passive preamp or volume control.
The R3s are a tad better than what I have in the bass department. R3 definitely has better looks (SQ = sexiness quotient)
