Wondering if amplifiers are still cheaper in Singapore given our exchange rate situation? If yes then for which brands?

Although right now my focus is on finding quality pre owned stuff... Just wondering just in case...I have a friend coming over from Singapore this weekend.

I dont think now days new goods are cheap comparing the sing dollar rate.. As indicated tending towards second hand products is worth.

Dont remember the name. But cant miss it. It touches the staircase ( NOT the escalator side ) and is on the 2nd or 3rd Floor.

Large Glass front with LOTS of staked Pre owned stuff.

The shop owner (Chinese) seems lazy ;-) closes the shop early evening and comes in only around noon...

It's not just about the price. Singapore would open up a much wider range of choices for you on any aspect of AV. India prices may be competitive for new stuff but the avaialbility would be severly limited. Also, many times in India, you may be able to buy but not audition. If you have any specific things to buy in mind, I suggest, you first check out the availability and price in the local market before going.

In Singapore, you'd also have the opportunity to check out multiple brands side-by-side...that's an advantage with you won't find in a lot of places here...

Ahh... I was just about to say the same. Singapore shopping is more about choice than price.

Any idea what was the name?

Adelphi Mall is not so big, and you'll probably want to look all round anyway, even if only window shopping, so you'll easily spot the places. It's a treat to wander there!

Don't let the young ladies drag you into the massage parlours (Adelphi Mall has a really weird mix of businesses!). No, I didn't... just window shopping! :ohyeah:

Adelphi Mall is connected by walkway (2nd floor, I think) to Funan Digital Mall. This is much bigger, oriented towards cameras, computers, etc, rather than hifi, but still one of my Singapore favourites.
