Can we use an android box with LG
web os or Samsung Tizen TV's and enjoy the full benefits of an Android TV such as Sony... ????

Your query is slightly confusing to me.. External android TV box is plugged to HDMI interface of TV.. So it won't interfere with your TV's OS..

Did you mean something else?..

Actually my LG has web os. I'll be thrilled if android
box plugged externally to hdmi can ooen new gateway to Android app in my TV ... Such as playstore apps, pdf viewing options, ms office... etc which is not possible thru web OS.

Yes Andorid box provide features as in sony , sometimes more than TV manufacturer. Since its a standalone box it has more potential to play the content than TV ,and you will have more options to intall new features and Apps.
Android built for Tv is very lightweight since their cpu and memory are limited. in case of android box memory and cpu will be more.
Of course we need to spend extra to get android box , but dont get the chinese android boxes , go with any standard android box like Nvidia_Shield console built with android os..etc.

Secondly nothing wrong with Webos ...now a days all tv manufactures providing popular apps , like Netflix ,hotstar .. etc to be installed with smart tvs. You may wait for sometime whether LG releases updates to install these apps. Then you can pick up android box if not so.

Ok.. Now it is clear.. You can add Android TV Box, cheapest one with Android TV interface is Xiaomi Mi Box 3 / S.. With this you will get connected to playstore and other compatible apps.. Not sure if ms-excel is a compatible app with Android TV interface..

With generic (chinese) Android TV Box, you should get access to all the apps that you can do with mobile as there are not Android TV interface apps, but just android..

Why would one want to see pdf/word etc document on the tv? Do you intend to do editing on it?

You can simply connect your laptop/desktop to tv and use it as monitor.

If you have different set of apps that aren`t available on your tv os then consider getting fire stick or android box like mi etc.
