Any Experience with Micromax 50B5000FHD ?

Hi,

I was thinking of buying Micromax 50B5000FHD from snapdeal. Its available for 34,000. Has anyone auditioned this TV ? I am worried about build quality, durability and picture quality.

Any suggestions welcome !!!

There was a thread earlier in this forum regarding Micromax 50 inch TV...I don't think many of us here would have tried a demo as it is a brand that is trying to make a mark for itself in the market....

Most 50 inch models from any brands in the 50 - 65K price bracket are Edge Lit/ Direct LED models... There may (or) may not be a difference side by side with other brands....

I think you should take a demo extensively, if it is aval near your location & then decide...

No body owns it and I am yet to see a Micromax Tv in any Multi Branded showroom. Without having hands on experience or atleast basic testing, I think its next to impossible to guide you correctly.

Unable to take any demo since i am located in bangalore. I think demo is only possible in Mumbai for Micromax TV's. Correct me if my understanding is wrong.

Yes.. Most 50 inch models in that price bracket are Edge Lit / Direct LED... I have read the data sheet of popular brands...

What i meant was most entry level TV in their respective sizes are Edge Lit / Direct LED.. The advanced version (Local dimming) are the expensive ones ....

I am only worried that it might get spoilt very soon..

Check with Micromax if they offer extended warranty... If so you can be safe & have no worries until the warranty expiries... After that you are as good as any other brand....

I had a Philips 29 inch CRT 5 years back... I didn't have any service issues with them so far...(I live around 45Kms away from city)

One of these models in listed 58K in Flipkart... In Snapdeal, it is 50K hyeah: I think you must be able to find Philips in retail outlets near you.... Take a demo, if you like them, call up Philips India & check if they would honour warranty if you purchase from Snapdeal...

If they honour warranty, then you are good to go hyeah:

After auditioning
1.) Micromax 50B5000 - 40K Pai International
2.) Philips 50PFL4758 - 53K Giria's
3.) Panasonic TH-50A410D - 58K Giria's

Colouring of Micromax 50B5000 dint look real/natural to me.
Philips 50PFL4758 PQ was quite good but TH-50A410D was slightly better probably due to IPS panel.

So I finally bought Panasonic TH-50A410D.
Started from ~35K budget and ended up spending 58K.
I'm loving it :yahoo::yahoo:

But I have a small question regarding the statement you made.

Did you try to alter the settings of the TV in the store. The sales guys are know to intentionally change the settings of some models to bump sales of other models, hence the ask.

I have read from some user experiences that PQ is on par with Samsung/LG.

Pictures looked yellowish.. The store guy mentioned all TV's are set to factory defaults.. I didn't change any settings..
