Hi,

Any owners of LG 42 inch plasma 42PA4520 who can provide feedback based on their experience so far - specifically looking if there's any image retention issues, picture quality and screen reflection issues ?

I couldn't spot much difference between this model and Samsung PS43E470 or a Panasonic P42X50D in term of picture quality; and I felt that sound is better with LG.

The pre-negotiation price in Bangalore for LG is 36.5K, whereas it is 44K for Samsung and Panasonic models.

LG comes only after Panasonic and Samsung in the pecking order of plasmas. However if you are pleased with the TV do buy it.

BTW, did you noticed the 3D plasma 42PM4700, which according to the website of LG has the resolution of 1366x768, while others have only 1024x768 resolution. (see attached screen shot.). If so have a demo and report your comments.

I think the spec you posted about LG 3D model is a typo in their website. Although it shows 1366*768 in the front page, if you drilled down to their Technical Specifications - there it shows up 1024*768. :)

Yes, I understand most of us in general prefer Samsung/Panasonic over LG for plasma. However lower price of LG 42PA4520 is a factor for me plus I couldn't see much difference in PQ. Am not sure how much Samsung/Panasonic 42 price can come down from 44K in Bangalore.

I saw in some threads that historically LG seems to have more problems with image retention/burn-in issues compared to the other two (but not sure about this 2012 model). Hence was reaching out to see if someone who already own this model can post their feedback...that would be really helpful.

actually pana claims that they do have a cont R & d in plasma..so normally we prefer panasonic..but that does not mean LG is doin nothing..if u are liking it ..u buy it..

My major reason for not choosing LG Plasma (although I was getting good discounts because of local connections) was their overall focus & attitude towards Plasmas against their LED with 3D Cinemas etc. Anyone who goes to a LG dealer showroom would feel the same. I liked the 50" 6500 model which was without internet smart TV or 3D features which was costing me 56-57K (MRP 75K) and you can buy extended warranty also but still didnt buy it. Also felt that for total price of 66K (including 10K for 2 yrs extd warranty), Panasonic 50UT50 was a much better option for a little more. And I am pleased with my decision.

Also to add that the showroom I finally brought my Panasonic Plasma also has LG products and I was able to compare few models & the owner himself was confident about recommending Panny Plasmas to anyone against LG...

Hi,
has anyone got this model ?? what is the diff between this and the ATR model ?
Reason for asking is that it is available for 26k .Factory seconds but i guess can take the chances ?
