Any recommendations for a USB to Ethernet adapter for a LG OLED?

hey folks,

I am getting a LG C3 soon, but the ethernet port on it is crap and the wifi coverage where the tv will be setup is weak, so my only way it to get an USB to Ethernet adapter for the tv, my main usecase will be to stream 4k remuxes over jellyfin/plex so the ethernet port will definitely not suffice, so are there any recommendations for an USB-Ethernet adapter that will work with the C3?

One additional complication in my case will be that I need the cable for the adapter to be atleast 3m/10ft long for my setup, so was thinking of getting an extender along with the adapter, will appreciate any suggestions by folks with a similar setup

I must admit that this is the first time Iam hearing about streaming via usb to a TV. Probably Iam out of date. But cant you use a long hdmi cable that is 8k compatible, instead of the long usb run.

ah no, I need the adapter for internet, I am running a hosted instance of jellyfin and all the 4k remuxes that I want to play are over 80mbps in bitrate which will lead to stuttering as the ethernet port is limited to 100mbps, you are right that I can just connect an HDMI cable but then I'll need to have a laptop or something setup near my tv from which I can play my files,

Get an Amazon firestick with usb to ethernet adaptor and install jellyfin on the firestick to access your hosted jellyfin. My son has done it this way.

The official adapter is limited to 100mbps unless you are using something else
 
He has used ugreen gigabit and an otg cable. He gets around 200 to 300 mbps speed. You cannot go above 480 mbps because the usb port on firestick is usb 2.0.

Sadly you cannot probably go over 480 mbps on your TV too if it has a usb 2.0 port instead of usb 3.0. But ff it has, than you should try any gigabit ethernet because webos is linux based. All my gigabit ethernet work on my linux laptops and raspberry pi without requiring any driver. If time permits tomorrow I will try all my gigabit ethernet on my son's LG oled tv (I have to ask him the model) and let you know.

Edit: I checked with him. He has a LG C3 and it doesn't have usb 3.0 port. So even if any gigabit ethernet adaptor works, it cannot go above the usb 2.0 speed of 480 mbps.

I'm happy as long as I'm getting above 100mbps, most of my remuxes should play fine as long as the bandwidth is above 150mbps, if its not too much, would it be possible for him to test out the ugreen gigabit directly on the C3? I have ordered this Ugreen gigabit adapter and would love to know if its working directly or not,

P.S. How's the ugreen adapter working on the firestick? I have a 4k max and it only has a micro usb input and a HDMI output, and I'm pretty sure that should be the case for all firetv sticks

I have an LG G4 2024 model. I have tried both the noted Cable Matters adapter as well an Anker. Both of them worked without any error, but unfortunately both perplexingly were only able to push about 50 Mbps.

I have been using this (https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07MK6DJ6M) with my G4, and all my remuxes (some can have avg bitrates of 90+mbps) play well with this one.

Also is your internet speed capped at 50mbps? and are you using those shitty OEM ONTs? if so it might be a router issue

I took the same adapter, plugged into the same network cable to the same network drop, and attached it to my Mac laptop. It pushed almost a gigabit. So it's definitely the adapter in combination with the LG G4 TV. I have not tried the Ugreen one yet. I gave up after having poor results with 2 different brands so thought it was a dead end. Will give this one a shot.

yeah, like I said, LG OLEDs are really finicky with what works or not works, some users have reported that their adapter stopped working after an update, so its just basically a roll of dice,
