Anyone using Pioneer HTP-RS42 ?

Has anyone got Pioneer HTP-RS42 HtiB ?

Here is the link,

It looks good, 5.1 channel and 100W per channel. Looks powerful.

Would like to get from real reviews.

not RS42 but i im using RS32.......got it fr 36.3k...

I have auditioned 32 some time back. Overall good but center could have been better. I feel that the sub-woofer was the best out of all HTIB's available in 50k bracket.

The 42 series seem to come with two options of speaker set
1. RS33TB - downside is that it has got a passive radiator
2. RS77TB - good sensitivity

However, it looks like 42 does not support connecting Ipod thru USB, for which you will have to upgrade to 52 series

See if you can audition 42 with RS77TB if Ipod connectivity does not matter.

I will take a demo of that one as well.

I just feel like, I might end up spending too much assembling a HiFi system and then wont be getting time to enjoy it.

So, better to get a complete HTiB and stay happy with that.

hi.....it is very loud ...more than enough to blow out my neighbours...
as it has got active sub, response to low freq is dammn good...
i pod connectivity and frnt usb port does not matter fr me...as u have to buy dvd or blue ray player fr ur HT, which comes with all those features...
the only downside i felt abt this system that it has got only 2 hdmi inputs, but fr my need they r sufficient, and u can always add a hdmi switcher to increase no of ports if u want....

Hi, whats ur avr in the package? when i tested rs32 at reliance recently it had vsx-322-k VSX-322-K 5.1-channel HDMI 3D AV Receiver with ARC, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio - Pioneer Amplifier, AV Receiver

Today I checked with a Reliance Digitial store in Kolkata and the price is still Rs.37,000/-. They are offering a Samsung 3D blu ray player for additional Rs.3,000/- (as per their claim the price of the said blu ray is Rs.8,000/-)

I am not very sure about the model no. of the blu ray player. And regarding the HT demo, I found it better than Onkyo 3500 (but unfortunately I demoed the Onkyo with pirated dvds and mp3 in a not so good demo room unlike I demoed Pioneer with original bluray in a very good HT demo room).

No way man.. I had Onkyo HT 3500 fr more than a year... Even though Pioneer has towers , it can never compared with Onkyo quality.. I auditioned R32/42 many times but i don't like the quality and crisp at all.

I suggest Jamo S 426 package is better than R42. Anyways ur the listener and finally its ur call.. But keep it simple buddy, never go for attractive package unless u don't compromise anything

I have auditioned RS42 in chennai Reliance (Offer 30K - No free bees).
This is louder and the look is very nice. But unfortunatelly, IMO, It is not able to play well on mid range frequencies. Missing detailed music. Not able to produce sound field.

I apologize, Its my mistake (Number confusion). It is RS-32 quoated for 30K in Ambattur-Branch, Chennai.

Personally, I don't like this. It is lack of creating sound field. (A 5.1 should create a sound field, Other wise no use of 6 channels).

Onkyo/Denon/Yamaha...planing to have to adution next month.

IMO, sound is individual tast, Go audtion multiple brands and select on your tast..!

Looks in your signature, you already having an Onkyo.!
