Just purchased it from Rhythm House in Mumbai . Its also available in infibeam / Amazon

Mine was a 2011 CD packed in a new box

Sir, I deny on your assumption. In particular the Word "Scrap",seriously i dont know whats in your Mind about the music of ARR. To be frank he gives one of the soulful music ,also i havent heard any music equal to "Taal",Thiruda Thiruda, Vande matharam,Lagaan, Pudiya Mugam, Vinnai thandi varuvaya etc etc.

If you just compare one track "Aromale" with any other? Its obvious people Hail and Yell the music directors.

But we cant say 10 Millions fans(Approx) are fools to follow the music of ARR.I never say he is best as because got 2 Oscars. Might be you have listen only his trail version of tracks and missed to get the real one's.

Please dont kick start a fight here. People have different taste. . There is nothing to feel pity about :) Enjoy the music you like and let others enjoy theirs as well.

Yeah Robin.

There are many in music industry who blatantly steal from other languages/locales. Most of the times we are not aware of the original hence we don't find any issue in it.

I know many friends who tell that Rahman copies from various places which is not known to aam junta. I had met a senior manager in SBI for loan approvals, who was enjoying Ilayaraja's melodies in his cabin. He was commenting that Rahman is copying directly from Carnatic music :). I dont know anything about Carnatic music, so i smiled.

Whatever it may be, i still stick to the point. If we like, if we feel it good for our ears, it is something we get attached to.

Most of the folks posted in this forum, have this liking to Rahman's music.

Still now, when i hear Chinna Chinna aasa (Tamil), Rojaa janeman (Hindi) in good quality stereo system, shiver goes through my spines :)

Rahman may be copying but he is not bad in that !!!

This was a good Joke Sir. If i have such in dept music to compare ARR then i would be in his team playing some instruments.

1.Music is Not something to Debate,as None in the world can give exactly the definition of it.
2.Am not a Great maestro so judge the music of Some one\anyone, Because i dont know in dept knowledge on Ragas or not even play any music.
3.Last but not least Music is something divine\Natural and there are 7 Swarar's and some number of ragas and anyone should play game only within them to sound sweet.


Let me Given an Example. There is a Tamil film "Vietnam Colony" Which story line is exact to Avatar film. But the tamil film was released in 1998.So may i say that copied from tamil film?

ARR use to commit about where he got hint of the music too, Once he disclosed that ,when he was in Gulf got to hear the tone of a man who was selling water and he loved the way he sung,So he composed Mayya mayya in Guru Film.

I would say its very easy to compare with other and obviously prove,But i believe music is something gifted by God,So i love what i like never waste time in checking who is copying from what.

You could probably pick the western tracks of ARR and prove, But not the Folks and melodies easily.


Finally to say, am not a qualified person to judge the quality of music, am just a normal human who loves music.let not come down to conclusions with samples that what i would say.

Chinna chinna asai is to be rahman's creativity song. It is very melodious song. I'm also agree with your argument. Rahman's popularity increased from that song.
But rahman's one of the first jingle was taken from 'Suzanna wega's ice ice song'. Firstly please listen the original song.
So please 'don't act as a blind'. I said only the reality. You can agree or disagree.

I've no voice here, bcoz my recent postings were already deleted. Most of the north side forum members were considering rahman is their musical God. I think some forum members worship him.
We want good music, like our culture. So i'm against stolen music. Someones considering film music is the ultimate music in india. Its not true. Film song is the music as like drama song. I'm not speaking to flatter. I'd mentioned two copied songs, no support from other members. So i'm stopping this conversation topic.

I liked the vietnam movie comparison :ohyeah::clapping: Me and my friends used to have same comparison while discussing about copies.

You could inform the relevant Original owner of the track that its get copied by an indian Music Director who got a huge number of Fans and few academy awards by copying Only.Possibly they could take a legal action thats the best option available.

But Just like to add few Words,Film music is no where inferior to any source.In fact Film music only made the Music available to everyone in Atleast our country.Once i heard the live music was been set as "Owned by only superior communities\rich" and after the drama\film came in to the public we can see equality.

I could see some one travelling luxury listen to a music over his Earphone at same signal\road people who go for his construction work listen to music on head phone.

Keep your heart wide, it keep pains away.

In case you could prove something against ARR, better you could open a Forum and educate people.

Copying carnatic Music- Wow still now i dont know Carnatic music is an Album owned by some artist or a rights owned by Multinational Company,Just had an impression that its one of the genre of music like Jazz,rack,Pop Etc, which has a certain protocols\style\standard in delivering the music.
