Dear friends,
This is how to get more bass out of the Audessey AVR Setup procedure.
The normal practice is to keep the volume control of the Subwoofer at half or "12 o' clock" during installation while running Audessey setup. To get more bass, Please try keeping the subwoofer's volume control at 10 or 11 o' clock.. then run Audessey.
After the AVR's Audessey setup, please manually increase the volume control of the subwoofer to 12 or 1' o clock.
Notice the increase in Bass.:yahoo:
Feel free to play around with the subwoofer's level control and Phase switch (if any) till you are finally satisfied with the bass level.
This can be useful for non-Audessey manual setup also.
Try not to go over 2 o' clock as this strains the subwoofer..
Hope this helps you..

Yeah that is one way, another way (better way in my opinion) is to keep the volume level on the sub at half (i.e. 12'o clock) as suggested by audyssey, and then increase the subwoofer level from the AVR itself. This would ensure that it is easier to get back to the reference level incase you ever need to without going through the whole process of calibrating the setup.

As you may already be aware of, Audyssey sets all speaker levels, including sub (some versions of audyssey dont have filters for sub), to match the reference level, i.e the level at which the engineers hear the sound in the mixing studio, at 0db master volume. So, if you keep the volume at 0db (which is extremely loud!! Switching on the dynamic EQ will maintain the same reference levels at lower volumes), you will hear the sound exactly how the engineers intended you to.

Thus, my suggestion would be, to first keep the settings suggested by audyssey and hear the system for 3-4 weeks. Then decide whether you need more bass. If you do, change the bass level from the AVR itself without touching the volume knob on the sub.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
