I purchased a Samsung K450 wireless soundbar last week and have been facing issues with it since day 1. The installation engineer was also able to identify the issue. When connected to my TV via HDMI ARC or Optical, the sound keeps going away for a few second every few minutes. This is really annoying.

Here are links to youtube videos demonstrating the issue:

Samsung engineers came and upgraded the firmware, however, the problem still persists. Anyone else facing similar issues with any soundbar? Any ideas how to fix it?

I believe that it may be a combination of hardware and software issue, so a replacement will not solve the problem. Any pointers to the process to return and get a refund?

Return it. Get your money back. Buy a quality product.

Agree, return it. Try polk magnifi mini. Mind-blowing sound from small package

Well, I would love to return it. But they are making it really difficult to do that. Any pointers to expedite the process?

I am interested in the polk one. Do any showrooms carry that in the demo area? I called a few dealers here and none of them have it on display.

Hi,

Visit the Samsung webpage and send a mailer with the details of the complaint, what was done etc....say clearly you dont want any replacement but want your full money back!

Be firm and clear and you will get it....it may take some time......they may try to offer you a brand new replacement....its your call to accept it or not

Thanks efernand1. Doing it now. I am surprised that one has to undergo so much pain to return a faulty product. Should have bought it from Amazon I guess. Returns are so easy there.

Have you tried profx? In Kolkata profx it is available for demo

Mentioning your experience (facts only), with an appeal to customer care to help, on their Facebook page might help move things along.

I'd enthusiastically echo the good vibes about the Polk Soundbars. I use the Polk Surroundbar 9500 BT for Movies at home. I had opportunity to listen to the Magnifi also, and they were also quite good. The Magnifi Mini was not in the market at that point. You should find them available for demo at any ProFX Showroom.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have escalated it to Samsung management. The problem is that the issue doesn't come up when the engineers visit. As the problem occurs intermittently and after using it for an hour at least, I only have my recorded videos to show them. They do not seem very convinced with the videos and want to see the issue in front of them. Another issue is that I have a LG TV and they try to pin the blame on it or other devices.

I am not sure why it is so difficult to return a faulty product? Aren't videos good enough evidence for the issue? Is there anything else I can do to prove my point? Aren't there rules to protect customer rights?

Hi,

Videos should serve as good evidence for this matter. You will not know when the issue can crop up again and by the time the engineer comes, it is either too late (after a few days etc).

Mention this clearly in your mail to the management and i am sure they will come with some resolution.

Thanks for all the help. I tried everything suggested here, however, Samsung keeps insisting on trying to get it fixed by upgrading the firmware again and again. They are saying that they have a new build from Korea which should fix this issue for sure. That's what they said the last time and it didn't fix it. I am sick of them treating my living room as their lab. I just want my money back.

I have opened a consumer affairs case against them. Is there anything else I can do to expedite the return and refund process? Anyone knows any legal counsel I can seek? If I have to loose my money, I would rather give it to a lawyer than these guys.

Hello,

So I pursued this case for a refund, but Samsung is not willing to return a product with manufacturing defect and give me my money back. I am extremely disappointed with this kind of behavior from Samsung.

I am already pursuing a consumer affairs case for this, but are there any other options I can explore? Does anyone know of a good legal counsel that can help me? I am willing to spend time and money to pursue this. I think what Samsung is doing in India is unreasonable, unethical and just plain wrong.

Any help will be appreciated.
