A lot of minimalist (western classical) music incorporated silence between the notes as part of the music. Example: the music of Estonian composer Arvo Pārt. But pure silence for 4 min and 33 seconds is taking things too far

Reminded me of this quote -

Not sure about Boulez and Cage, but the reference to Bach is probably about precision and structure - which defines a lot of his music.

Very true. Still reminisce our first TV - a Crown B&W CRT with speakers on either side assembled inside a lovely wooden cabinet with rolling shutters! It also acted as a table top just like in this pic. Try placing even a pen on top of the current day LCDs!
