We talk more about xonars & not much about Onkyo.
If you check,these soundcards are since long in market(2006).Still not much reviews.Even in our forum,no one has it (I suppose).If you see specifications,it has Wolfson WM8740 DAC,9.1 analoge out(stereo +7..1),made in Japan.Layout shows Large capacitors.

i did try to find info about these before i purchased the essence. some people on some other forums who had tried both were of the opinion that asus was a better sound card. dont remember which forums though...

Good examples are McIntosh,Naim,Pioneer high end ( Yes ...read it on net ) esp Pioneer speakers,Vintage sony High End ,( We consider Pioneer and Sony only as display companies),Audiolab,Nagra,Vintage Luxman,Outlaw audio etc.
