Copying into DVD drive may be an option. But not sure.

After copying all my songs I might end up having 30 to 40 GB data.

May be over the years I might end up to close to 100 GB.

Let know your suggestions.

Thanks

This will essentially depend on how long you want your data to last. Accordingly, you can back up on multiple DVD's (single or dual layer). 30 to 40 GB data is just 10 odd Single Layer DVD's, or 5 Dual layer ones.

A lot will also depend on how you store the disks. Stacking them one over the other in a CD spindle is a sure shot recipe for destruction. Think "Separate Storage". Hope this is helpful.

You get external hard drives nowadays with terabytes of storage. The 320 and 500 GB hard drives have become relatively cheaper. Can't you just take a back-up on an external hard drive?

i still trust on dvd..

get some good dvd's a seperate dvd case.. 20-25 of them will be able to hold 100gb easily and hardly cost anything..

20 dvd's worth 200 bucks and you are all backed up...

All it needs are just two Blu-Ray discs. !!:):)

Cheers

ATM, an expensive proposition compared to DVD's. You will need blank disks as well as the Blu Ray burner. Secondly, since BD-R is still fairly new, what is the data integrity timeline we are looking at?
