Hi guys...i need to buy a new split ac for my 70 sq feet room. Preferred size will be 0.75 or 1 ton. Please suggest me best model and brand. Max budget is Rs 25000. Can stretch to Rs 30000 if it is really worth that much.
This is my first split ac so please suggest me which features i should look for.
Thanks a lot :)

how much will be the usage hours ??
direct sunlight to the room or number of walls ??
what floor ?? top floor ??

25k is decent budget for a lot of .8 ton ac.

70sft directly turns to 10x7 else 8.5x8.5 room..

Sir,
Just because a room is small does not mean you need a small a/c !
Please do bear in mind - when music is playing the AC has to be OFF !
Very Important.
I have a room that is 175 sq. ft. in size & I have 3 tons of A/C in it.
This is because, I put on the 2 splits - cool the room & switch off the AC's
So the noise stops & then the music comes on....
Very Important to bear in mind - the tonnage of the a/c is not as important as its air blowing capacity & the smaller it is - the harder it has to work & therefore will generate more noise.
Always remember - a big a/c running on low power & soft air blow will generate less noise.
What you need is a 1.5 or 2 ton Mitsubishi Split [Mr. Split or other] !
Buy a big a/c & use it less. Always better;;imho
All the Best !

Sir, a very interesting and a logical observation. Do you have a ceiling fan in your room ? In my experience the ceiling fan is an even bigger bother than an AC.
I have a similar sized room where I need to keep the A/c running intermittently as it gets very hot in summers, was planning to buy an Inverter split A/c to get away from the menace of the fan noise, but your post has juggled the grey cells. Will research more on the noise levels before buying.

Thanks

Sir,
I have a Fan;
But it is never switched on.
It serves as a 'reflector'
I used to have 2 fans in my older room - above my listening position to 'scatter' the sound - Metal Cinni Fans - Never used to switch them on.
To get back to the Split AC's
Get / Buy 100 % more than what you think you need.
Keep the Blower [inside room unit] as big as possible - that way - the noise level is kept to a minimum. Air Turbulence i.e.
Also Keep the A/C on a different phase from your audio gear - very important.
1 phase for lights & electrical s / 1 phase for ac's & the 3rd phase for Audio.

Thanks for the inputs, was planning on the same lines for the AC. As the Delhi summers are a couple of months away have started planning in advance.

Regards

Samsung split ACs have lower build quality. I have Samsung and LG at my home and the LG is far far superior. Of course the Daikins and such are much better. But want to record my observation and frustration with Samsung ACs.

Buy panasonic split 1.5 tones and its extremely reliable, full copper piping (not like crap lg sami and tatas which use aluminium) and its cheaper too. The cooling is damn good and air throw is also great. The only prob is no backlit for remote to adjust temp during night which might be a pain. Daikin have excellent super silent ac's but its way too costly too. also, they dont include piping and wiring (default) in their package. Hitachi & carrier are also another best bet for same price of daikin. Beyond that no other brands as service is a real pain.. you have to wait for a month to get your ac serviced. rest is upto u.

I agree to thad as the Korean brands use aluminium pipe and frequent leakage, welding and gas filling will come free of cost with ac. :D Also, no need to go for auto clean as its useless. Consider air throw, how much actual cooling capacity (not tonnage), operating noise, electricity consumption, free service & pref with a backlit temp display (whether remote or on ac). Its been 2 years n absolute rejoice with my panasonic and it chills during peak delhi summers.. service is 2 thumbs up... u call, the service engineer will be @ your doorstep same day or next.

Daikin and General seem to the Rolls and Bentley of ACs ...and with prices to match. I will try to buy such "hi-end" stuff next time, hoping for longer life with less repairs.

Daikin is doing awesome .. O'general has now lost that edge. their products are indeed the most amazing ones but daikin is sitting right on their head..
our old O'general ones are working flawlessly since 10+ years however the new 2 T invertor AC we took last year din't gave me those smiles..

+ 1 to Mitsubishi
From experience, Mitsubishi electric is the best if you are looking for long term and hassle free use in Delhi type summers, nothing comes close, O'General is second. But they do cost a bit more than the usual brands. LG/Panasonic are good otherwise compared to other regular brands.

Not a fan of samsung or hitachi or daikin anymore.
