Im looking to buy a subwoofer, my usecase and budget as follows
Home theatre(60%) and music(40%)
Budget 50k to max 70k
After thorough research the subwoofer i found are
1)Bic America SWA122 (12 inch 300W RMS)
2)ELAC Varro ps250 (10 inch 250W RMS) With App
3)Polk es10 (10 inch 200W RMS)
4)Polk es12 (12 inch 400W RMS)
5)ELAC Varro ps350 (12 inch 350W RMS)
6)SVS sb1000 pro
My first preference is Bic america because of the price, i can buy the svs and call it a day but i love movies so much i think svs being sealed will not be dramatic for movie effects.

Elac varro.
Bic would be the last thing I would even consider.

I guess due to their poor service in india?
Lacks quality.
In The 12" category choose subwoofers which are tuned highest.
I know this sounds counterintuitive- but the punch needed in the 60hz range to get the kick in the chest will come only from a higher sensitivity subwoofer.

Take this subwoofer for example

I have installed this in a 23 x 13 room.
This is absolute bonkers. One wouldn't believe it's performance.
Now, on paper the specs would look crap to many, but what is missed while reading the specs is the sensitivity and max spl.

( Having no affiliation with this brand, anyone reading this can choose similar spec'd Sub from any brand - mostly sub subs are found in the pro audio category)

I used BIC America H100ii and Even the PL 200 in total for close to 5 years and can confidently say that SVS SB1000 although being sealed / compact is a better winner and performer. Being using the SVS for close to 3-4 years now and has not failed a single movie performance. Music is the best. 5 years unconditional warranty from the proper authorized dealer gives you peace of mind.

All depends on which AVR you hook it to and what adjustments in terms of freq signals, levels etc (including bass management) you set in order to get the best playback.

Why not look at Sunfire or Velodyne subs? They are also good.

I get it
Definitive technology dn12 has 500w rms but stays only above 25hz, i think this sub will have more midbass punch.

25+/- 3dB isn't high.. it is low for a small cabinet with 12" driver.
Check uk or European brands, avoid American.
( This post is solely for the op - i don't want to get into arguments for this opinion )

Some American brands have ruined the overall subwoofer standards by making subs look great on paper instead of real performance.
Now most brands are forced to follow this to sustain.

This is a tough pill to swallow for many that is why I again mention that it is solely for the OP.

regards,
Hope this helps :)

Do you know Any dealers for these subs?

Since I am based in Mumbai, I purchased the SVS from Total Home Theatres Nariman Point.

There are many dealers who also deal with SVS, Check if they are offering the 5 years warranty before purchase, provided you want to buy a SVS.

You should try to audition as many brands as you can in order to decide which one works best for you in terms of performance and budget.

What will be great to me may not sound that great to you as listening preferences differ!

All the best

So on that note, bic america should be the worst sub 😄 12inch claims 15hz +/-3db.

But this subwoofer would only be good for music. you will miss lot of content below 40hz for home theater use. lot of tactile feel in the 30-40hz will not be felt. at least 30hz capable subs would be required for home theater use.

Yeah...
There's surely content.. But what's the point in having below average quality of everything over having phenomenal bass over 40hz?

Though that sub is rated 48dB +/-3 - in room performance is felt in the 30s.

Subwoofers science is a steep learning curve.
I have been deeply engrossed in it since 5 years.
Have experienced a variety of subs, from the best pro audio brands like d&b audiotechnik and L acoustics to high end home theatre brands.

Lesson learnt - the ones which looks the best on paper are the worst performers (in same segment.)

Once correct knowledge is applied - subs worth 1.5 lakhs can easily outperform ( by a huge margin) subs worth 3-4 lakhs.

I refrain to mention certain brand names because I don't want to get into arguments and thus keep the thread clean and informative.

not below average, subs like tonewinner ,rsl speedwoofer etc have usable output till 30hz for small rooms. for bass above 50hz,with proper integration and multi sub approach with the help of towers or any big lcr, we can get very good bass for smaller rooms. so ,we can get best of both in low cost setups. in room of this type of subs can increase their low frequency output by 5-7hz max in that room size. so we are losing a lot of content in movies below 40hz . not everyone listens at reference level. so 12 inch subs at lower output(110-113db) upto 30hz would be a great experience.
in fact i have installed many pro audio customized subwoofers for our clients to get reference output, but they are tuned to get below 20hz in room at reference level. even i use pro audio drivers in our theater
