Hi
I have a HTPC with a Silverstone ML03 cabinet
While the cabinet is very sleek and minimal, the rather large Silverstone branding in white is spoiling the show
What is the best way to remove that branding - some solvent ?
(Same with the LG DVD writer - any way of safely removing the LG branding ?)

Remove the front panel, go to a car repair shop and get it spray painted or do it yourself. Remember to remove the front panel before doing it or else the paint will go into the USB and sound ports.

Sounds weird. If you have bought a Toyota Camry over a Nano would you still put efforts to remove toyota logo from the front? Then what is wrong here? Silverstone is Toyota Camry as compared to the mass market cabinets.

+1 to above, I also have the Silverstone case and the logo/name looks classy when compared to the other cases. It in fact gels with other equipment in my showcase.

I have the same cabinet. Neither logo nor the brand name is too prominent to disturb the view.

If you still need to remove it, use petrol or the nail polish remover.

I would not remove it either, when you have a Toyota Camry why remove the logo, instead tape it off or maybe put a elegant logo or something to try and hide the logo etc.

Say in the future you want to give off/sell off exchange etc it is surely easier with the logo than without. Just my two cents.

just try tese solutions backside and test oves small area- manytimes it takes all the paints and sometimes plastic surface is too damaged - becomes rough

Hahaha no I dont want it that bad so as to get it spray painted

Well I dont think I agree with your view on car branding analogy. For me, the car's shape and finesse should speak for itself rather than the brand name. A classy Camry is easily distinguishable from say, a Indigo Manza or a Dzire, without needing to go anywhere close to the badging
Same applies for cabinets. The subtly shiny front panel of the Silverstone and the slightly oblique kink running down the front shows its a quality piece of hardware. The rather large branding spoils the show and makes it look downmarket. If it was smaller fonts (say half the current size I wouldnt have minded)
Look at AV receivers - Denons and others and see the size of their branding ? Thats my definition of classy

I think I will try my wife's nail polish remover on it and see

I am damn happy with the case - dont foresee selling it off for any reason.

But yes, you have a point. Resale value will be hurt
But I am ok with that

I agree with you that the case looks very smart, but the logo is oversize and rather ugly. Nail polish remover is actually quite fierce: go carefully, and test on an invisible, non-structural part of the plastic first. Why not try the sugar thing! I really wouldn't bother about resale value: you are likely to keep something like this until some upgrade forces you to buy a new case. By that time, it will likely be too old to worry about getting money back for it. Don't worry about anyone else: make it look right for you. OK, you know that already :)

Quite possibly!

I have a VW Polo. Feeling that their circular VW logo is not well known here, VW have put "Volkswagen" on the back. I think it looks ugly. Whilst I haven't bothered to remove it, many have. Even though it is a [slightly-]premium brand, people are happy without it.

I hope you did not buy the car online :) and gave several strolls to showroom. If you did not like the spelled brand name you should have gone for something else than to live with it. This is something I guess the OP did not get a chance of.

It's a case of effort required. If done early in the life of the car it is easy, and the result will be perfect. A lot easier than removing a printed logo. Still it was too much effort for me! :o
