Biggest possible screen in 50 ~ 55K range..Without 3D & Frills !!!

My viewing distance is exactly 10feet from the screen to the seating position...I can live with HD resolution....My budget is 50 - 55K Maximum...Def can't go beyond that....:sad:

All am looking for is the best picture quality in 50 ~ 55K range....No frills required....Don't need 3D, glasses, LED backlight & don't need Media player functions as i already have WD TV Live Hub....& others in my siganture....

What i need : Minimum 3 HDMI inputs..... (One for Media player, one for HD STB & 1 for PC via HDMI (Next addition) & 1 spare HDMI port (Future)....

I checked in many showrroms in chennai regarding Panasonic 50X30 Plasma's & none of them seem to have them....That has 3 HDMI inputs......In the present model of 50X50 there are only 2 HDMI inputs...Very bad..

But i have checked some LCD TV also in 46 inches from various showrooms...I have collected some model numbers...

Panasonic 50X50 ~ 58K (2 HDMi Inputs) ...Yet to negotiate further...Not sure if they would bring it down....

Demo piece - Sony KDL-46CX520 ~ 57K (4 HDMI inputs)..Again yet to negotiate.....

Demo piece - Samsung 46D550 ~ 58K (4 HDMI Inputs)...still to negotiate...

New piece - Toshiba 46PB20 ~ 53K..( 2HDMI Inputs) yet to negotiate...

Demo piece - Samsung 46EH5000 - 61K..yet to negotiate...

My friend is also looking for 46/50 incher tv in the same budget......But he is fine with 2 HDMI inputs.....

Kindly recommend/suggest other affordable 46/50 incher models in the the maxium budget....
 
The toshiba pb20 is less than 45k on infibeam.com... U should be able to get the toshiba led PS20 in ur 55k budget.... Among the LEDs it's the best VFM... In plasma go for either the Panasonic x50 or the Samsung E470... Both should be well below the 55k mark...

Thanks rajadeep....Toshiba is already on the list...The down side is it only has 2 HDMI ports....My friend has shortlisted these..I am looking for a tV with atleast3 HDMI Inputs.....

Thanx Kittu....Thatz way above my budget......I am not in a position to stretch it beyond 55K.....

I forgot to mention in the list - Samsung Plasma 51E490 - 59K....I guezz HD ready....Not negotiated again...

My suggestion would be... please don't compromise with the picture quality with number of HDMI inputs. You can anytime upgrade to a HDMI switch like

I accept your suggestion.....The reason i am insisting on more HDMI inputs is because i have a non HDMI receiver....Else i would have no hesitation in picking up the Panasonic 50X30/50 range.......
 
elangoas please check with Reliance Digital.. if they have any stocks left in other cities... they maybe able to get one for you
 
I checked out the 40 inch d550 and and 43 inch e450/47, full hd lcd and hd ready plasma from Samsung, and the latter was much better when it comes to picture quality, even to a laymans eyes. But yes you do have all the worries associated with Plasma displays to deal with.
Here the Panasonic 50UT30 is available for roughly 40k INR. Try and see if you can locate leftover stock in Chennai.

Chennai Panasonic dealers in chennai tell me that there are no X/U series models are aval...All of them have been sold it seems...

They are trying to push me with X50/U50 series...Actually i don't mind buying X50 series...It juz that it is short of 1 HDMi input.....For lack of 1 HDMI Input i need to compromise on inches & increase my budget...:sad:

WoW i can't believe 50UT30 is aval for 40K in Kerala...If you don't mind, can u confirm me again abt price of 50UT30 & itz availability...
 
See if you can use HDMI splitter if that's your only issue, and its a future issue as you say. I feel X50 is better than X30 otherwise.

Yes i have thought abt the HDMi splitter/switcher....But don't want to buy it just for 1 HDMI input...An other problem is i have a non HDMI receiver..Hence the problem...(Receiver due for an upgrade next)

Else i would have easily settled for X50 series.....

Agree that Panasonic 2012 models are better than 2011 models....But the price difference is juz too much.....

I have again spoke to Panasonic dealership (Chennai) & insisted that i am looking for X/U 30 series (2011) models.....

Waiting for an update from them.....

elangoas, I am sorry, but the price I mentioned for 50UT30 is not of that in Kerala, but in Kuwait, where I am presently.
 
Ok.....Panasonic dealers have confirmed that X 30 / U 30 series are not aval in chennai & only X/ U 50 series are available....

I am not keen on Panasonic 50X50 & 50UT50 as they have only 2 HDMI inputs...

Only 50ST50 has 3 HDMI inputs which i can't afford.....

So i dot have many options as i am getting a Sony KDL-46CX520 (Demo piece - LCD) for approx 57K....I haven't checked the usage hrs for that....

Will check & update tomorrow with the findings....
 
If you are not particular about brands why don't check brands like videocon/ Akai / Haier?. Their low end full hd LCD costs around 30K for 40 inches. So 50 inches may be available within your budget.
 
x50 is fine...i think.try to negotiate upto 50k........
with 50k thats the possible best picture...
dont worry about numbers of hdmi input etc..
okay you do have non hdmi reciver..so what.
you connect your stb/bluray player/dvd players hdmi into tv....and use the optical/coax into your reciver...
in fact in airtel/videocon dth...you have to do this method only...they dont send DD via hdmi...
and as you said you do have a plan of avr upgrade...so why worry on hdmi input numbers..
acording to your signature a stb and a media player....2 hdmi sources.....why are worrying about hdmi ports now...
