Any place local (Bangalore, Whitefield) where I can rent Bluray movies?

Alternate option- Mail Order Rental Service?

I don't know in Kolkata but I can vouch for moviemart. Very friendly and good customer care.
Great collection, the only downside is certain movies are always out and you may have to wait for long time.

I agree with neeraj on moviemart, not going to renew my plan next time,. Before they shut off big flix was best on dvd rentals even in kolkata, I still miss them.

For kolkata folks better you buy ur own bd or get from friends. Or else enroll with local video libraries for dvd.

Earlier Moviemart's service was very good and they were very customer friendly but nowadays I get the impression that they are no more interested in renting movies.
I have 2 separate plans for dvd and blu ray running. Earlier they used to deliver movies daily but now I get my ordered movies in about 2 weeks on average.
Most of the blu-ray titles are never available. I havent seen a blu-ray movie for months. My email and phone calls have not been replied.
I think I have to look for another movie-renting service.
What are other economical options to make use of my full hd theater room?

Thanks for mentioning that. I was about to enroll for a 96 movie plan with them.

MovieExtreme... I guess that's the name. They have huge BR collections. Try their Opera house branch. They have opened up at Bandra west recently (moved from Hill Road to Pali Naka).

He's not cheap, though. Last time I was there, it was Rs. 100/- per night for a DVD.

It never makes sense to rent a Hindi movie DVD. It would always be cheaper to buy the DVD discs.
It would make sense to rent only in case of Hollywood English movie Blu-Rays. This is because Hollywood Blu Rays - the non-pirated ones cost 999-1600.

In Gurgaon, i had subscribed for blu ray rental. It was 900 pm. One blu ray per day, home delivery, good collection. On an average if you watch 15 movies per month it comes to Rs.60 per disc.

That's kind of cheap @60 per movies. But how many do you generally watch per month?

For me (though it is only from my own collection), I sometimes don't watch movies for days (3-5 days) and then end up watching more than 4-7 movies during weekends. :ohyeah: And sometimes 1 movie per day for a longer stretch... nothing is fixed for me.

By the way, are these all original bds with all region or c region?

900 per month for 1 blu ray per day seems like a good deal. Even if one sees 2 movies per week - one each on Saturday and Sunday - it works out to around 110 per blu ray disc. That would VFM. Works.....

At Raja the rate used to be 75/DVD/24 hours and 150/BD/24 hours. 100/DVD was a long long time ago. Been a member since LD days. They have a huge collection and almost all DVDs/BDs are Region 1/A. The current membership fees/deposit would be pretty high though.

There was another outlet, Cinema Paradiso. They shut shop suddenly and didn't bother to return the security deposit of 3k.

All are original. Some are all region while some are A/B/C. Most of them are imported so no censor issues. For the first month i took around 18 movies. Then slowly it came down 10-15 max.I unsubscribed this month, will start again when my wish-list is ready and have time.
