Hi,

Looking for a pair of bookshelf speakers for using with my desktop computer. Budget is 15k and don't want to buy a separate amp. Pls suggest

Regards,
Gokul

I'd pick between Swans M20w(M50w if you can up your budget), Harman Kardon Soundsticks iii and Klipsch promedia 2.1 (costs only 99$ in US but a bomb in india)...

Under strict budget you can also look for Mackie on Amazon, they are 9k something. One more is M Audio AV42, I have been using M Audio AV 40 (previous version) for the last 5 years as one of my stereo setup and they are so melodious.

M Audio speakers are studio monitor speakers ryt? How good they will be while watching videos?

I also connect my AV40 to my TV time to time when watching NatGeo or Sports channel. They are quite good in overall tonality. Also has an extra bass slider on back. Yes they are studio monitors and people use them for semi professional monitoring, people considering them directional. But I find them good for both casual music and movies because of good bass even with such a small driver. Not so directional as people mention, I hope it's also depends on the application how you utilize them. Quite widespread though.

Have you seen Mackie on amazon. Here's AV42 and here's Mackie

You from Chennai so you can also look for this Ad, can negotiate on this too. Ask him if available.

I've been using a Presonus Eris 4.5 for the last couple of years. Highly recommended as long as you don't want a subwoofer.
